A few weeks ago, our washing machine stopped working. My wife: "It's 15 years old. They're going to charge us $200 just to come out to investigate. Maybe they can't even fix it. Should we get a new one?" Me: "No—we can't. I'm teaching a class on #PlannedObsolescence on Fri!" 1/

Speaking personally, I hate CELEBRITY CULTURE. I don’t care about the latest messy breakup or unfit beach body. I hate seeing this crap promoted on Twitter. I envision a social media that prioritizes real human connection also with nature. #UnleashValues 6/

I imagine a world & internet where it’s normal to proclaim our pro-sustainability visions and values (e.g., environmental responsibility), and our science-based ideas for the changes that could enable those visions, where those values can be expressed widely. 2/

The internet seems full of consumerist, superficial values. These anti-sustainability values are baked into media & social media platforms. It’s time to do something about it. This THREAD introduces our @cosphereproject effort to #UnleashValues aligned with sustainability.
