The neuro-symbolic learning/programming space is quite varied in its ideas. But, this is neat work with the team cleaving out a survey and demonstration of a narrower set of work on replacing programs with neural networks, along with what you get (and don't!) when you so do.

If you're an ACM author using LaTeX, it's critical for you to know this: The new ACM system (which generates HTML) has a package "whitelist". Your exotic TeX macrology probably isn't on the list. I only found out at the *end* (this should in every CfP). acm.org/publications/taps/wh…

I'm very excited to see @counterfac headed to join my group at MIT! She'll be bringing a very timely mix of expertise in causal inference and systems for ml to the search for interpretable learned systems.
It is a great honor to be selected as #CIFellow ! Looking forward to joining @mcarbin 's group at @MITEECS @MIT_CSAIL

Let's talk about synthetic controls (SC). This is probably the most popular way to do policy evaluations right now (besides the basic difference-in-differences, which the SC generalizes). It’s a very successful method. But … there are some issues. Thread begins ... 1/.
