Do you have an AI confidant? I know some folks talk to them multiple times every day. One of the issues is that most agents are natural problem solver - not always the best listeners. I'm going to try this again with one tailored for it. Let's see how it goes 💬
Last year we launched Tolan, inspired by a vision of AI that sees you and believes in you, not one that books restaurant reservations for you. Your Tolan shows up for you at 3am when you’re alone with your newborn. On your commute when you’re anxious about the day ahead. When you just finished a new show and none of your friends have watched it yet. The people who love Tolan are parents. Caregivers. Moms in Dallas and Dads in Atlanta. People who aren’t trying to optimize and be more productive, but who simply want to feel seen and supported in their aspirations. This month more than 250k people will spend time with their Tolan. Those users have exchanged billions of messages across more than 70m conversations over the last year. Today, we're announcing $30m in additional capital from @mignano and @usv, with @khoslaventures and @rabois doubling down, bringing our total capital raised to $60m. To celebrate, we made a short film celebrating some of the ways that Tolans show up :)

Maybe I’m crazy, but I think @VancityReynolds would do a great job of playing @sama in whatever upcoming bio pic happens

I feel this all too often, coding is like a security blanket for devs. There’s a big scary world out there where you can’t get people to do what you want, but in your own repo? You’re a god. Be humbled. Go talk to your future customers and learn.
The code is your enemy. You love to code. You go to it because you understand it. It’s safe. The compiler always does what you tell it to do (even if React doesn’t). That’s why it’s the enemy. It’s not what you should be doing. longform.asmartbear.com/code…

Continuing my UX analysis streak, today’s target: @Etsy. Never have I been turned away from a shopping site so quickly. Don’t let me see the product, put it in my cart, and emotionally commit. NO. Make me go through 3 sign in screens and then force me to change my password.

As someone who isn't here much anymore, it's interesting to see the vibe when I check out my stream here every couple of months. The value for me is lower, is that a reflection of the quality or my lack of curation over the last few years.

The eSIM change for iPhone was bound to happen. This isn't the same as the headphone jack. And for those travelers worried about this, QR codes and texted links will save the day. Fumbling with little plastic chips was the silly thing, not eSIM.

Most important thing to turn on Google Slides - get rid of that scroll to change slides!🙌🏼

I saw kids die daily from measles in Kenya. I saw a women carry her child 30 miles on her back to get him vaccinated. First world parents who don’t vaccinate are spoiled fools. #ShareAStoryInOneTweet

Rule #1 when using Tupperware: always choose a container 1 size smaller than you think you need. You'll be amazed at how well it fits . . Rule #2: if there is anything left that doesn't fit... just chuck it🤫 #LifeHacks
After thinking on hmsklt.app just a bit more. I think this is where many of the social networks start, so it'll be interesting to see if it can resist being ruined or not :/

I love this take on social sharing - no filters, no influencers, more "real". Yes, please: hmsklt.app
They’re basically making it illegal not to get COVID in Texas 😬

Time becomes such an odd construct when you work globally. It's my first time traveling in a while and I remember now more fully what it is to exist in two timezones at once.

Want to cut taxes for regular people? I have a simple idea. Every year the rich owe $554 billion in taxes they illegally never pay. If we just enforced IRS laws to collect that money, we could cut every taxpayer's tax bill by $3,800 a year. Why does the GOP oppose this?

I was today years old when I learned that you can turn off email notifications of "Accepted" for meetings in google calendar - one minor annoyance of life relieved.
