I can’t sleep. Here’s why: when people refer to sports teams there is maddening grammatical inconsistency. To wit: You say “The Lakers (plural) are in the playoffs!” But if you’re going to the game you say “Let’s go to the Laker game!” Singular. WTF?? Knicks, same thing.
