they spotted three chips in the orb and thought he cracked the leonardo da vinci mystery. meanwhile, the entire refraction physics is on life support haha
Experts Can't Explain This 500-Year-Old Mystery In 2017, this painting attributed to Leonardo da Vinci was sold for 450 million dollars, becoming the most expensive painting ever sold in history. But what very few people know is that this work holds a mystery that experts have been trying to solve for centuries. The crystal sphere Christ holds in his hand breaks the laws of optics. And Leonardo, the greatest scholar of optics of his time, would have known it. Was it a deliberate mistake? A theological message? Or did Leonardo paint something so precise that it took us 500 years to understand it?

Artists aren't servants, open your browser and look it up yourself.
Show me an NFT you believe is criminally underrated. Not the most expensive. Not the most hyped. The one you genuinely believe deserves more attention. Drop it below. I want to discover something new.

1/.. attention is the currency and he's the mint. be honest: nobody is there for the skull. a crowd gathers around money the way plants lean toward light - not out of admiration for the lamp, but to get lit themselves.
I don't entirely agree with your conclusion. Of course I understand that artists need to pay their bills. I'm an artist myself, and I'm well aware that recognition doesn't put food on the table, but I think you're reducing a much broader social phenomenon to financial desperation. Not everyone participating in this circus is a struggling artist trying to survive. There are collectors, traders, people with established careers and others who have absolutely nothing to sell. They're participating too. So what explains their behavior? And there's something else. If an artist's best chance of paying next month's rent depends on making a wealthy stranger feel important on social media, what does that tell us about the market we've built? I find it disturbing that we've reached a point where this behavior can be defended as a rational economic strategy rather than questioned as a symptom of something deeply dysfunctional. And I think we need to be very careful about using poverty to explain away every behavior, because that risks turning artists into people who supposedly have no agency or responsibility for their own choices. Financial pressure explains a lot. But it doesn't explain everything. And if your analysis of the numbers is right, perhaps the most revealing question isn't why so many people respond to a wealthy collector, but why we've created an environment where generating attention for someone else's wealth can seem more rewarding than creating art itself.

2/.. everyone cashes a diff cheque. dealers need flow + a buyer w/ a pulse. colls need to be early on whatever he touches next. careers need to look alive next to the new shiny thing. the curious need a story to tell. the skull is just the excuse to stand close.

3/.. two hungers, one circus. the poor hunger for bread - your flatterers. the rich hunger to be seen near the fire. different stomachs, same mouth movements. cut the money: artists starve, audience scatters. there was never an audience for him - only for what he drops.

the goal isn't cheaper diesel. it's making every ukrainian strike on russian oil refineries an “attack on america's energy supply.”
So we are going to ignore our sanctions and fund the Russians war machine for… 14 hours worth of fuel? We don’t hate Trump enough.
