You can absolutely intentionally develop style. Every memorable style is a set of intentional choices, made by analyzing work of your peers and world surrounding you. To some it comes naturally, sure,but a lot of artists invest time in it, and learn how to perfect it through time
Young artist obsession with having unique style on the other hand comes from the artist community itself where you are not really allowed to be a copy of existing creators, otherwise people will either harass you, or will keep reminding you that you are not ~original~
Maybe enshittification of social media is for the better, I used to obsess over choice of words and quality of my posts but it really doesn’t matter anymore
