Sessional Faculty at McMaster now have a Tentative agreement! Our bargaining team and strike committee have been working hard to push the employer into a fair deal. Members will be voting on this agreement soon. Stay tuned!
Check out this Op-Ed by our local President about Unit 2 negotiations, which have now reached a tentative agreement!

We had a lovely time at our newly launched book club learning about the 1936-1939 Revolt in Palestine by Ghassan Kanafani and the role of labour in the struggle for liberation. Sign up for book club and read revolutionary theory with us!
Sessional Faculty: check your McMaster.ca email for the Picket Duties form to sign up to serve as a picket captain! Picket captains are an essential part of the maintenance of a well-organized strike and signing up to serve as one is a great way to get involved!
And here’s a caption (feel free to change as you see fits best):
In the spirit of SPHR, join us this Wednesday at 6pm for The Literary Forum for the Liberation of Palestine’s book club. RSVP here:

CUPE 3906 is proud to endorse @SarahJama_, @cmsmolenaars, @EasyThePianoMan, & @shaw_sandy in the provincial election, as voted by our members.
With their history fighting for organized labour, we believe that they are the best candidates for workers in their respective ridings.

🧵: A question I've been getting at the doors a lot: Why did I decide to get involved in politics?
My response: I didn't decide to go into politics. Rather, the world where I was raised is inherently political.
Every action we take in a capitalist society is political. 1/2
We will be voting on which candidates to endorse in the Provincial Election at our GMM on February 10th!
Please reach out to request an endorsement and our membership will vote on who we think can best represent the interests of working people.
Attention McMaster Sessional Faculty: the Unit 2 Strike Committee will be meeting to prepare a potential strike following our strike vote in December.
Please come by if you have any questions or would like to help with preparations!
The drop-in social last term was such a success that we're doing them monthly! Stop in for as little or as long as you like to grab some free coffee & snacks plus learn more about your union.
We're proud to have passed motions to make donations to the strike funds of @cupenat Locals 233, 254, and 1302, who are collectively fighting against Queen's University - an aggressively neoliberal university - to ensure good jobs for campus workers
