This is a really, really good overview of the way the New Testament undermines the institution of slavery.
Juneteenth reminds us of our Christian abolitionist framework—where the Bible guts the foundations and frameworks of slavery.

It’s been a min since I’ve written anything to be published, so this was fun. "Christians mustn’t see the church as tangential to the spiritual growth of the next generation but as central to it." thegospelcoalition.org/artic…
Can you still be a Christian and sin a lot? People often ask me some version of this question. And warning passages like Ephesians 5:5 scare people. But you have to understand that we are both saved and being saved 1/4
We still have a lot of growing to do. We sin a lot. Over time, God starts to change us bit by bit as we pursue him. The key is progress. Passages like Ephesians 5:5 describe ppl at their core and comfort 3/4
There is no such thing as being good enough to be a Christian because Jesus was good enough on your behalf. There are no qualifications and no resume needed. Jesus just says “Come to me.”
Thank you, OG! 🙏🏾
Get this book, read it, purchase one for every young person you know. Then purchase ten additional copies and give them away.
Excellent resource @cvchavis.
🙌🏾 so grateful to have these servants, among others, equip HBCU ministry leaders this past weekend. I’m full
“Six days you shall labor, but on the seventh day you shall rest; even during the plowing season and harvest you must rest.” Exodus 34:21
God commands the Israelites to rest, even during plowing and harvesting!
We need to busyness to prove ourselves, but he’s freed you from justifying your existence by justifying you in Christ
We need busyness to avoid being invisible, but God sees you in Christ
We need busyness to feel strong, but God has given you the freedom to be weak in Christ
Thank you for listening, my friend! 🙏🏾
Really enjoyed this episode of @guiltgracepod with Cyril Chavis (who recently taught for us at @RTSWashington). Definitely a must listen.

How can you get students, particularly those at HBCU's, hungry for the Gospel?
In today's #BookClub episode we talked with @cvchavis, RUF minister at @HowardU, on his @HidaseP book, "The Bible Explained!"

Yes! Please sow into my friend and co-laborer’s powerful ministry to athletes. Our student Bible study leaders are also doing a great job leading this alongside him. Love what we get to do on the campus thru RUF
My friend Chris Reed had 94 students show up at his RUF Bible study on the campus of Howard University this week - God is at work!
He needs additional support so how about dropping him a few $$ givetoruf.org/donate?fid=hUi…
