ALT Scheme 1: Conventional antibiotic therapies for chronic suppurative otitis media (CSOM). The figure highlights the high concentration of ciprofloxacin (CIP) to which the patient is exposed during systemic (1000 mg per day) and topical (1 mg per day) treatments. Scheme 2: Biofabricated patch with antibiotic releasing capabilities. Scheme 3: Distinct electrospinning (ES) modalities investigated in this study.
