Here's my impression of what happened. #F1 #Formula1 Lewis chasing in the championship Max fighting hard (and dirty) the first few corners. Lewis got fed up and in a snap decision decided he wasn't backing down anymore. This is nothing new in F1, just dirty and dangerous.

Max anticipated him to be further over. (Note Max is unable to see Lewis here.) Lewis had a car and a half width and completely missed the apex. They came together as a result. This is an 80/20 Lewis is at fault. If we just take the rules as written it's 100% Lewis' fault.

But in reality it takes two to tango, however people saying this was a racing incident are wrong. We all want better racing, and in that vein it probably should be considered a racing incident, but what you want the rules to be and what they actually are are different.
