The best athletes hate to lose just as much as they love to win. They use these two motivations as fuel to outwork their competition.

Win with HUMILITY. Compete with INTEGRITY. Keep PERSPECTIVE. Success means more when your character shows just as much as your performance.
Let’s Win The Texas Way.

You're only as good as your teammates, and your teammates are only as good as you. You need each other to achieve both individual and team success.

There’s something special about being part of something bigger than yourself. Something that asks you to put aside your own interests, commit to something greater, and understand that the journey was never just about you.
In today’s day and age, that seems to be getting harder to find and even harder to embrace.
The players, coaches, and parents who do it best eventually look back and realize that the greatest part of the experience wasn’t always the wins, the recognition, or the individual accomplishments. It was the journey.
It was the relationships built, the adversity overcome, the lessons learned, and the memories made along the way. It was learning to put the team first, sacrifice for one another, and understand that you were part of something bigger than yourself.
The real reward of team athletics isn’t just what you accomplish together. It’s who you become along the way and the people who share that journey with you.
One day, you’ll look back and realize just how special it was to be part of something bigger than yourself.

If you choose the goal, you also have to choose the work that comes with it.
If you want to be great, you don’t get to decide each day whether great effort is necessary.
You already made that decision when you set the goal.
If you commit to the goal, commit to the cost.
From the first meeting in Arizona with David Berson & Ross Molloy, to the brotherhood of the NFL Today desk, an unforgettable year with Ian, Evan, Ken & crew and now alongside legendary Jim Nantz, Tracy Wolfson, Rikhoff and the whole crew.
What an honor & privilege.
Grateful

Tom Brady nails mental toughness.
“Mental toughness is putting all that BS aside. All that noise. All that hype. And just focusing on what you need to do.”
It’s easy to get caught up in things you can’t control.
Simple to say. Hard to do.

You know what holds a lot of athletes back? Worrying too much about what everyone else is getting.
One thing I learned over 20 years of coaching:
The players who improved the most weren’t always the most talented.
They were the ones who stopped worrying about what they weren’t getting and started making the most of what they had.
Tom Brady nails it here.
Control your attitude. Bring energy. Be prepared.
The moment you stop pointing fingers and start looking in the mirror is the moment you start getting better.

Dabo Swinney shares his mindset on toughness and why smooth hands don't get rings.
"I love the Rocky movies, man. We live modern, but we train old."
"That's a mindset so that you don't lose the perspective."
Then he said something every team needs to hear:
"You just fall in love with the grind. It's a grind, and you gotta love it."
You can't be successful if you just love the results and hate the process.
You have to show up and earn it every day.
"Our strength coach always says, 'They don't put championship rings on smooth hands.' You gotta put the work in."
"The quality of the construction is based on the commitment of the crew...You gotta have guys and coaches and staff that are committed. That's my job every year: to make sure that we have that in place."
There are no shortcuts, you have to show up and do the work.
• It means commitment.
• It means toughness.
• It means sacrifice.
