The Pioneers are No. 1 by three points while trailing in first-place votes. We can't recall that happening in any national football poll.
Platteville earned it on the field: a 38-6 win at UW-Oshkosh, after shutouts of UW-Eau Claire (38-0) and UW-River Falls (42-0). That's 118-6 over three weeks. Wheaton was on a bye.

This is so freaking stupid. Apparently the education they received sucked. If you force D3 schools to give scholarships they'll just drop sports altogether, especially the more expensive sports.
If you are a D3 player, which I was, you aren't good enough to be at a scholarship school, get over it. All these idiots are going to do is take away opportunities for others.

Outside of getting a D1 offer out of HS, the second hardest offer is at a high academic D3! Need a really clean transcript and have to be a heck of a good ball player. Those spots are very competitive to get. Normally a post grad for a year or a bit lower academic D3 is the path.

As DIII continues to work through the age-based eligibility proposal, some relevant comments from @UEC_Commish.
“We really want to hang on to what Division III is and stay true to this experience. We do think it is different than Division I and Division II, and we want it to stay different.”
The DIII Management Council has since recommended that the Presidents Council oppose the proposed legislation.
