This video essay is fucking brilliant. Outstanding synthesis. It will ruin your life. youtu.be/7xfmpgIH8IQ Perhaps the ONLY thing @damiengwalter fails to take into account is the dialectical relationship between capitalism and collectivism. It was the Abstract of population pressures (producing the Negation of horrific war (incentivizing the development of machine technologies)) that justified the Capitalist Concrete. This dialectical process was recapitulated (ad nauseum) within the capitalist framework. People power IS population pressure. The system designed to manage these pressures would not exist without those pressures! The central nervous system is to the eukaryote as capitalism is to humanity. Did the CNS consider externalities in the formation of the organism? No. Indeed, externalities became the raw material for future iterations. The only question is what will become of the experiencer? Is the ascent of the machine an end to consciousness itself?

I have never lost confidence in a tech company faster than @YouTube @YouTubeCreators decision to goose the stats with fake views. At least let creators set the Studio app to show the standard, engaged views in real time.

Only in America do they manage to blame the workers for capitalism
Can we stop saying " if you can’t afford to tip you can’t afford to dine out!" We need to be saying, "If a restaurant can’t pay its employees a livable wage without depending on the generosity of customers then they can’t afford to own a business!”

The reason you're a liberal is because you live in a bubble of privilege and don't have a clue where or what reality is
One of the reasons I am a liberal and not a leftist is that leftist morality is about power, not rights. Good actions reduce power imbalances, bad actions exacerbate them. Murder, theft, and discrimination can all be justified if they harm a “powerful” person or group. Liberals condemn these actions because they violate individual rights and dignity. Liberalism seeks equal rights, leftism seeks equal power.

It's true the growing list of letters is a bit funny But then the list of peoples white christian men have raped over the centuries has a lot more letters to add
Here's the strange paradox of “MMIWG2SLGBTQQIA+” stuff: Hyper-individualism paved the way for people to self-author their own identities. Collectivism turned those identities into fabricated "communities." But the list of "communities" has to continually grow to capture the ever-expanding list of identities. Play this out to the end, and every individual would eventually receive a letter identifying them. The list of letters grows until you loop back to the concept of you, as an individual, having letters that represent who you are as an individual person. At that point, we would have accidentally reinvented the concept of having a "name."

"Violence is the last refuge of the incompetent." Spoken by Salvor Hardin, First Mayor of Terminus, Asimov's stand-in for George Washington, as the Foundations founding leader. Holy f*** has American leadership fallen a long way.

Blade Runner may be the greatest of scifi movie. But however many times you've seen it, there is one key clue that entirely transforms the movie. Once you know the final theory, you will never see Blade Runner the same again. youtu.be/4sndw1FaCO8
