My new book, Dear Mama God, is on Kickstarter just for the final push for press costs. It's an expansive, simple child's prayer of wonder, delight & gratitude addressed to God as a Mama. Incredible art by @lightonthesea_ kickstarter.com/projects/wat…
Artwork from the new children's picture book, Dear Mama God, a simple child's prayer of gratitude, delight, and wonder addressed to God as a Mama. The text on this art spread reads: "Thank you for trees for birds to build nests in," and the art shows wee children in the branches of a tree with one riding a bluebird and another examining small eggs in a nest. This new book is on Kickstarter now to raise finishing funds.

Before I had kids, I thought I had a great immune system, but it turns out I was just really good at staying away from the type of people who sneeze directly into your eyeballs while telling you a story.

When my youngest dictated this prayer to Mama God (age 5), I knew that expanding our God language bears really good fruit. And now we've passed the halfway point to bring the @dearmamagod book to more kids (and their adults). Oh--and the art is amazing: dearmamagod.com/kickstarter
An image of a prayer my youngest dictated when she was 5 to Mama God. It reads: Mama God - Thank you for the sun and the trees and the chirping of the birds and all living things-- and the warm fur of Snuffaluffuguesus. (Signed by her)

This is incredibly meaningful because "Mother God" by Rev. Teresa Kim Pecinovsky is one of our family's all-time favorites. It's beautiful to see how woman authors support each other, and it's the Mother/Mama God way. Can't wait to see Mama God next to Mother God on bookshelves.

On this Feast of the Nativity of the Ever Blessed Virgin and a day when so many feel that they have lost a grandmother I offer this icon of Jesus in the lap of the blessed virgin in the lap of her mother Anna, Jesus's grandmother according to tradition.
