The @eriktorenberg Oscars! Can’t wait
Excited to announce the Cosign Awards: celebrating exceptional people, companies, and products that had a massive impact in 2026. cosign.co/awards Anyone can nominate and vote. Award winners will be chosen by the public in conjunction with a panel of judges, including industry leaders like @lennysan, @packyM, @amasad, and many more. We’ll host an event in December honoring the winners (10 per category). For people categories, we’re mostly focused on everyone except the CEO–everyone else building the company behind the scenes. Companies with the most amount of people nominations will be listed on our “Top Companies to Work For” page. True to form, at Product Hunt I helped launch the Golden Kitty awards a decade ago to recognize great products. Soon after I launched the Rise Awards, honoring executives and ICs building companies that make them. The Cosign Awards is the next iteration. We have 41 categories across people, companies, and products. People categories: - Future Founders - Rising Stars - Engineering - FDE - Product - Design - AI Researchers - Marketing - Comms - Growth - Chief of Staff - Operations - Talent - Finance - Public Intellectuals - Podcaster of the Year - Newsletter Author of the Year - Poster of the Year Company categories: - Rising Stars - Best Place to Work - Founder Mafia - Talent Density - Highest Aura Product categories: - Product of the Year - Launch of the Year - AI Assistant - AI Language Model - AI Coding - Dev Tools - Open Source - Consumer - Productivity - Creative & Media Tools - Product Design & UX - Enterprise B2B - Hardware - Robotics - Self-Driving - Healthcare - Vertical Fintech - Legal

I think large part of the cambrian explosion we are about to see in precision medicine is simply a result of shortening the feedback loops between intervention and diagnostics. for example, if you can measure metabolites in a tumor on a daily basis, you can much more quickly iterate between treatments. this is all exciting news, and congratulations to this team.
We’ve raised a $45m Series A, co-led by @foundersfund and The @OpenAI Startup Fund, to build cancer therapy that learns. Technology is rapidly changing medicine, but data loops and rapid adjustments are still largely missing. When you start cancer treatment, knowing whether what you’re doing is working is too slow. Clearly there is a better way. Build systems to watch cancer in real time, then feed that data into a system that itself can treat the disease. This seeds a future where, unlike drugs, we develop medicine that continuously learns to improve itself. We've been building neurotechnology and BCI platforms to do just that. @coherenceneuro

This is what it means to be “well resourced with a vengeance” Exactly what we should expect of our billionaire class. Thank you @mcuban!

I’m excited to watch this develop! Strongly recommend following.
Excited to launch Before They Break Out, where I’ll spotlight promising startups before the rest of the world catches on. Kicking off with Vals AI, a startup building critical evaluation infrastructure for the future of AI. @ValsAI @RayanKrishnan

- now may literally be the worst time in 40 years to buy a home. sorry millennials. - housing market is seeing the most severe collapse in transactions in modern history, but without a drop in prices. - this the lowest reading since the housing index began in 2001. Includes 2008 financial crisis / COVID - closest comp is the interest-rate shock of 1979-1982. Home prices similarly didn’t drop in nominal dollars, but home values were eaten up by inflation. Buyers got screwed then too.
Stunning. Pending home sales in the US fell to an all-time low in September

Simple: ship a working version of the @theranos vision powered by SI Could be 10% of the original vision, with the promise to keep iterating For bonus points open source all the technology and patents And given the pace of super intelligence, someone will and then folks will start saying “seeeeeeeee! @ElizabethHolmes was just too early!!!” I will leave it to @nathanfielder and @JohnCarreyrou to adjudicate that moment! 😂😂😂 [ go see the film ]
Congratulations! you’ve been hired by Billy Evans and Liz Holmes to handle their PR. What do you advise them? Options below (collected from my various sf tech group chats). What did I miss? 1) Deflect. - Issue a short, timid statement - reiterate her innocence, acknowledge mistakes - suggest the filmmakers misled the audience / the family - ask for privacy for the kids - then lay low. Most popular recommendation. 2) Disappear. - Decline press, - stop posting from Holmes’ X - avoid any public fights with Fielder. - Anything they say will be used against them - The time to reappear in public, if ever, is after Holmes is out of prison and the public has moved on. Second most common recommendation. 3) Mea Culpa. - solely Holmes, no Evans - accept substantial responsibility - a chance to earn sympathy / reframe the damaging parts of the story. (“I wasn’t fully honest with our wealthy investors, but I feel so bad I hurt the people who trusted me” kinda thing). - vibe is she has learned and matured; deep voice is gone. - Focus on humanizing, including that she was in her early 20s and clueless. - narrative is second chances + overly zealous prosecution - Hard to pull this off logistically if she can’t do an interview from prison; may need to wait until she is in a halfway house next year. Nobody thought either of them would actually go for this. 4) Full Trump. - Come out SWINGING. - Focus is on Evans, who arguably has a much bigger reputational problem than Holmes - Produce LOTS of evidence, including trial defense. show this case was less clear than everyone thinks. - publicly confront the filmmakers - truly “own” Holmes’ and Evans’ roles as the villains - press on that Fiedler has a history of tricking people, and say they were tricked. - framing as ambitious entrepreneurs with powerful enemies, eg powerful lab diagnostics oligopoly they are taking on. - Compare Holmes to other founders who were doubted but overcame. (Evans somewhat adopted this in the film when he spoke of his vengeance and powerful enemies.) For this to work, Evan needs to be so relentless that he earns support for his grit and chutzpah.

This is so stunning, undeniably be the most insane example of what is coming in the next decade of bio. - Analyst knows nothing about biotech, but intrigued by the hype - Gets access to unreleased Claude model, uses it to run an autonomous drug design campaign to create antivenom for scorpions - $200k budget; 25% compute, 75% for the wet lab - 3 day design time; 35 page prompt, generated mostly by the model itself. only FIVE human messages were sent to Claude - Claude could answer its questions by emailing vendors, which it did! - 300+ agent swam designs, scores, and delivers a set of proteins, then sends to a wet lab for testing - 211 protein designs tested, of which 17 bind to the target in four of five toxins - Compresses years of biology work into a few days - All done by a team that knows virtually nothing about life sciences
What is AI really capable of in bio? To separate hype from reality, we spent 3 months working firsthand with @AnthropicAI's internal research model to see if it could create an experimental scorpion antivenom. Introducing Citrini Therapeutics. citriniresearch.com/p/citrin…

I recently used Claude as a therapist, and I was delighted to find that it validated my view of the world and confirmed my suspicion the other person was completely at fault. Strongly recommend, 10/10. Human therapists are cooked.

in therapy, like at McDonalds, the customer is always right. LLMs understand that in a way woke judgmental english majors with graduate degrees will not.

The full Who's On First set, the most famous comedy routine of all time. Abbott keeps telling the truth while Costello grows more confused.

The cinematography of You Can See Everything was designed to tell the story through human faces. Lots of unusual choices: - Ultra high length zoom lenses allowing cameras to shoot ultra-tight shots of faces without being close to the subjects. We’re talking breathtaking 250mm zoom lenses. You’d normally see these at sporting events. The subjects would have no idea just how intimate these shots were going to be. - Low apertures giving creamy bokeh that separates the faces from the scene. - Distinctive vintage color grading by Damien Vandercruyssen that makes Elizabeth’s sharp blue eyes pop off the screen. It also makes everyone look a little bit evil. Nathan’s grey hairs seem to really pop. - An aspect ratio of 4:3 instead of the usual 1.85:1 seen in most movie theaters. the result is that faces fully fill the screen. (I found the resulting letterboxing to be annoying, but I get the art of it).

Flying home from the Dialog conference in Washington, DC. You can only join if you have been nominated by another member. Genuinely one of the most fascinating groups of people. A rare forum where you can talk about just about any weird or controversial idea you have and get “I was wondering the same thing” back — even from ideological opponents. Grateful for @auren and others for creating such an illuminating community. In an era where almost every conversation has an AI transcriber, we need more off-the-record opportunities to talk through big ideas.

haven’t seen candor like this from a games exec, well, ever. @TimSweeneyEpic was the only app developer to stand up to Apple and Google. He’s going to build Snow Crash. And he’s going to unbundle the games industry. Gamers are in for a very wild ride over the next few years.
Replying to @KenneyNL
This is bullshit, Kenney. I’m the same tech tree following optimist who moved from C to C++, from 2D to 3D, and from closed source to open source. I run a company. I write code. I contribute to published papers. I’ve upped my expectations of AI. Up yours!

The post-training opportunity, in a post. They spent $300k with ~5 people and set up their own RL and CRUSHED the frontier. Who is building the Cursor for post-training?
We are releasing Ultramarine 1 Flash, a frontier-class model built for knowledge work. It is open-source and achieves similar performance to Fable 5, while being 60x cheaper. It was post-trained by a team of 5 for ~$300k all-in. Available on API now, with weights releasing in 2 weeks.

Block is going to aggressively deploy these into every small restaurant in America, just as they did with their other point of sale systems. It will be the first time most of these small business owners feel the deflationary impact of AI, because in many cases, it will eliminate the need for extra staff. Customers will get faster and more precise service. Many restaurants that would otherwise go out of business will stay alive, a ripple effect that disproportionately supports the working class families who depend on their success. Congratulations to @jack and @TempletonThomas from a grateful generation of foodies.
we made a kiosk. we made it really smart. you can talk to it if you want. and it looks pretty good too.  squ.re/kiosk
