Donald Tusk is not a real politician. He is Brussels’ plastic loyalty card — valid only at the EU checkout. He has no backbone because he has never needed one. A phone call from Berlin, a fax from Brussels, and a microphone from Democrat-financed TVN were enough. Tusk is a product — synthetic, polished, with no trace of his origins. Ready for export, ready for betrayal. And he has always betrayed. Consistently. Deliberately. Without emotion. He is a man who has spent his entire life learning one thing: how to look like a European and speak in such a way that he never has to take responsibility for anything. When Poland was rising from its knees, he was handing the Germans the key to the padlock. When the border needed defending, he said invaders were just "poor people looking for their place on earth". When Polish President Lech Kaczyński died in Smolensk, he was shaking hands with Putin. When it comes down to it, he merely slides across the surface, like a worm crawling over a washed-out flag. He has no concept of loyalty. Not to people, not to history, not to anything except himself. To him, Poland is nothing more than a discount code he uses to secure a better seat at the table. But not at our table. At theirs. The table where people speak German, think Belgian, and despise everything Polish. He builds nothing because he cannot. He does not understand strength because he fears it. He knows nothing of risk because he has spent his entire life as a spineless pawn in someone else’s game. And that is precisely why he returned: not to change anything, but to make sure nothing changes. Tusk is not a prime minister. He is a puddle Poland has stepped into for the second time. Except this time, we know exactly what we are stepping into. And unless we stop pretending that this is merely a “political dispute”, we will remain stuck in the mud with him. Because Tusk does not have a programme. He has an instruction manual. Written in a language that is not taught in any Polish school, because it contains no words such as “independence”, “dignity”, or “border”. Instead, it contains expressions like “harmonisation”, “adaptation”, and “risk management”. It is the language of people who have never built anything, only adjusted the ambitions of others. Tusk did not return to seize power. He returned to seize control. To make sure nobody asks uncomfortable questions anymore. To ensure that everything flows in one direction again. To return Poland to the role assigned to it: a subcontractor, an extension of someone else’s market, a buffer zone. He does not need to intimidate anyone. He does not even need to persuade. All he needs is the advantage of the media, procedures, and an exhausted society that simply wants to be left in peace. And that is precisely the peace he offers — dead, smooth, sterile. A peace in which nothing hurts anymore because nothing means anything. His government is not a tragedy. It is a shutdown. The slow euthanasia of a nation that grew tired of fighting and agreed to exist without significance. Tusk will not conquer Poland. He will cushion it. Dilute it. Postpone it indefinitely. When he speaks about Poland, he sounds like an accountant writing off a loss. When he speaks about history, he sounds like a bureaucrat who does not even know the names of his ancestors. When he speaks about the future, he sounds like a man who knows he cannot build it himself — but will do everything in his power to ensure that nobody else can either. Tusk is the end of the dream of a serious state. The end of the language of ambition. All that remains is administration — efficient, cold, and utterly alien. All that remains is him — a man who has never fought for Poland, because he has spent his entire life fighting against it.
