Mexico City 2014, my band @dantehellhounds was touring and we got to play at a subway station to everyone who was coming and going. It was great. This is a great shot from that era. Don’t remember which one of our friends took this one though. 🐺🔥

Dolly Parton, who died today, at age 80, was beloved across America and beyond. “A word like ‘crossover’ scarcely encompasses a singer admired by Vanna White (who says Parton is her role model because she ‘hasn’t been affected by show business’), Björk (who has called Parton’s twanged crystal timbre ‘immaculate’), and Nicki Minaj (who nods Parton’s way in a guest verse on Drake’s ‘Make Me Proud’),” Lauren Michele Jackson wrote, in 2020. “A Dolly Parton concert is like a local census, bringing together peoples across lines of race, gender, sexuality, and, miraculously, political affiliation.” Revisit her reflections on the country-music legend: newyorkermag.visitlink.me/-O…
