Update to my Top 24 favourite Batman comics.
Small changes really, I might’ve revisited one or two of these stories since my last ranking.

I think the best part of Rucka’s (first) Wonder Woman run might be how everything that happens feels genuinely consequential.
Even to the end where it’s plagued by event shit and cut too short, it finishes on a bittersweet note and Diana feels transformed.

The ending sucked.
But most of all, the series was not good. There’s nothing to learn from it, it’s cesspool of the worst superhero tropes and it’s paper thin.

I love this moment due to how it represents an almost embarrassing level of self determination.
He’s getting back up to fight a thing that almost killed him with some tenuous rationale about testesterone and references to his own mythic status that boils down to “I’m Batman”.
It’s so funny, and it’s kind of the North Star of what I’d like DCU Batman to be.

Batman + needing saving (especially on a PR front) has never been a thing since the Clooney era

Happy 55th anniversary to John Stewart, whose resume includes Marine, architect, and Green Lantern. That's already three more qualifications than most of us have, and somehow he still has to deal with the rest of the universe's nonsense. Our John Stewart, Aaron Pierre brought all of that complexity to the screen in LANTERNS. John Stewart first appeared in GREEN LANTERN (Vol. 2) #87, written by Denny O’Neil, with pencils by Neal Adams and inks by Dick Giordano.

"Clayface delivers the sort of psychological depth and emotional resonance that enable it to bear comparisons to the works of such body horror maestros as David Cronenberg and Sam Raimi."
Have I told you what a pleasure it's been working with director James Watkins on this project? If so, I'll say it again!
