If you're writing CLI apps in Go and want something (imo) more streamlined and idiomatic than the popular lib, try github.com/daved/clic
Simple setup, POSIX-friendly flags, operand handling, nice default and customizable usage.
Good news, unique IDs now have intrinsic value when stored in a novel fashion.
There will only ever be 21 million Bitcoins.
There will only ever be 21 million Bitcoin2s.
There will only ever be 21 million Bitcoin3s.
There will only ever be 21 million...
THIS IS INSANE!!!
A San Francisco startup says it just turned mercury into real gold.
The company is Marathon Fusion. This week they announced they'd made stable gold using fusion neutrons, at 10x the record CERN set in 2025.
CERN's record was 29 picograms over four years. So nobody's pouring bars yet.
The method is what got me. You hit mercury-198 with a fusion neutron. It loses a neutron, becomes mercury-197, and over the next few days decays into gold-197. The exact same gold sitting in central bank vaults.
Their 2025 paper says a one-gigawatt fusion plant built this way could make around 2 tonnes of gold a year as a side product, while it's selling electricity.
I've said it for years. Gold is a shiny rock. It's valuable because there's only so much of it and pulling it out of the ground is hard and expensive.
If this holds up, gold's scarcity turns into an engineering problem. And you can only delay technical progress. You can't stop it.
To be fair, the gold comes out mixed with radioactive isotopes and would need to sit for well over a decade before it's safe to touch. Nobody outside the company has verified the result yet, and commercial fusion is still years away.
Peter Schiff has spent years telling everyone Bitcoin has no intrinsic value.
This week a startup says it made gold out of mercury.
There will only ever be 21 million Bitcoin. No reactor on Earth can make one more.
Christians should speak of hope more than faith, and God's gracious love more than hope.
The gracious love of God does not produce an option for man to become the door to communion with Him, rather, the gracious love of God produces hope by Him being the door to communion with Him.
The living hope of God does not produce an option for man to become the door to communion with Him, rather, the living hope of God produces faith by Him being the door to communion with Him.
Sure.
Veneration is fine up until it is treated as a "holy" act.
And that was the point of my reply. I would've replied there, but the OP blocked me.

Christ revealed His heart-mind (lev) just as we reveal our heart-mind.
What is the abundance of your heart?
Some are compelled to flee from the Shepherd's voice, saying in their heart, "I am my own shepherd".
Others are compelled to go to the Shepherd's voice, saying in their heart, "Worthy is the Lamb...".

Agency is "too far forward" in the flow of things for us to focus on.
Sure, we make choices. Christ made choices. That's not in question. The focus should be on why we make the choices that we make. The scriptures are explicit about this: From the abundance of the heart-mind (i.e. lev), the mouth speaks.
So, I would agree that Christ's physical form was corruptible, but His heart-mind is fully God, and His Spirit is God's Spirit.
We, on the other hand, are in a corruptible physical form with a dead spirit that is made alive by God's Spirit. The Spirit softens our heart and transforms our mind, which we then use to push against our corruptible nature and share God's Light "laterally" through physical means.
In this, we see that it is by authorship (in creation and recreation) of our heart-minds that righteousness is injected into us, not by means of the outward choices we have made. This is how we move into true freedom, away from bondage. Freedom that is living is our inheritance, not our default state.
I've represented the history accurately.
It's worth adding that uncreative and authoritarian writings (i.e. tower-building) infected the church quite quickly and clearly under Clement.

Your comment is word games: "Roman Imperial Church" 😂
Your chronology is backward. Rome persecuted the Catholic Church for centuries before legalizing Christianity. Ignatius called it the “Catholic Church” c. 107; Irenaeus traced Rome’s apostolic succession c. 180.
TIL: Muhammad was concerned with people's spiritual development, longing for their heart-minds to be aligned with Christ's.

Mohammad said pretty much the same thing just before he birthed Islam: One faith developed by one man in his own lifetime. Like Luther, Calvin, Knox, et al.
I don't intend any undue diminishment, but it's intriguing to relay facts and then be degraded without justification in the name of a supposedly holy institution.
"In hoc signo vinces" is as "In hoc signo vinces" does.

Who said it?
"Conquer by the sign of the cross"
A) God, who incarnated as a poor Jew, generally avoiding political and economic issues in favor of topics related to heart alignment, and who directly claimed to be the savior despite the Hebrews having expected their savior to free them from the tyranny of an empire, and who was tortured by the Jewish leadership and the Roman Empire on a cross.
B) A Roman Emperor trying to preserve his rotting empire
Not as a commentary on the topic itself... The Pericope Adulterae is an early addition to the scriptures. It's a pleasant story, but it should generally not be leaned on much.
I wouldn't expect anything more from someone who calls an emulation a transcendence.
Any Christians with basic intelligence should be concerned that a computer algorithm is being touted as "beyond human".
