Here's the full video of the asteroid #Sar2736, a ~1 m object that broke up some 50 m west of #Belin, #Germany, and probably dropped some meteorites on the ground. Video credit: iplivecams.com/live-cams/aug…

It’s open! It’s open! And ready for its closeup. After successfully removing two final fasteners on Jan. 10, members of the @astromaterials team photographed the #OSIRISREx asteroid sample with a special technique to achieve super high-res images. go.nasa.gov/3U2bCoU

Ah, that's better. I respect his engineering leadership with Tesla and SpaceX, but I've had enough of the political confirmation bias quoting from sources in his own political echo chamber.

J.J. Thomson won the Nobel Prize in physics in 1906 showing that the electron is a particle. Ironically, his son, G.P. Thomson, won the Nobel Prize in physics in 1937 showing that it is not (or rather that the electron can also behave as a wave).

Node-based tools just became non-experimental and are now part of Blender 4.0 beta. They allow you to create custom operators using #GeometryNodes. For that purpose there are also a few tool-specific nodes to access e.g. the current selection. #b3d #devfund

Going to say it ... The logo for @X looks really really tacky. It makes me think of cigarette packs in the 80s.

Having this exclusively on Twitter and not on YouTube is terrible. Apparently they haven't even implemented the same playback controls that YouTube has. This is objectively a worse experience .

Speaking as someone who has always worked from home, the "return to work" mandates for workers with duties that CAN be done remotely, shows that CEOs are more concerned with control than results. Merely having people on site does not guarantee performance results.

Mathematics. To those who do not know mathematics, it is difficult to get across a real feeling as to the beauty, the deepest beauty, of nature. If you want to learn about nature, to appreciate nature, it is necessary to understand the language that she speaks in.

This is the 36-inch telescope at the Institute of Astronomy, Cambridge. It's one of the biggest optical telescopes in the UK (as well as the place that the technique used to find exoplanets was developed). We're going to try to refurbish it and make it open to the public!
