I miss my regular #intermissiontweet posts and connecting with everyone here, but let's face it, this has become a dystopian hell-scape and is already a tool of the authoritarian oligarchy. I'm phasing my way outta here as quickly as I can. Find me bsky.app/profile/davidomusic…
Calling on @AFMLocal47 to amplify @Local_802_AFM's message here - this is not a "New York" issue - musicians everywhere should be standing together to hold producers & theatre owners accountable for living up to their CBAs.
We got 1,000 new signatures overnight saying NO to canned music on Broadway with David Byrne's "Here Lies Love" LET'S GET TO 10,000! Sign the petition now at actionnetwork.org/petitions/… @The_AFM @CentralLaborNYC @DBtodomundo #HereLiesLove
And with tonight’s show we close the all-too-short run of Urinetown at @USCSDA. So grateful to have been invited to MD this show, and at the conductor’s podium I have the best dang seat in the house. Wishing everyone happy trails and hope to see y’all soon! #intermissiontweet
One of the joys of working in Urinetown at @USCSDA has been seeing (and hearing) these young performers learn and grow so much through the process. Tonight they are really taking this show, making it their own, and running with it! (Or swimming perhaps?) #intermissiontweet
Neglected to #intermissiontweet at the Urinetown matinee this afternoon because we were kinda preoccupied - all the understudies went on and they did great! Tonight we’re back to our “A” cast but it’s nice to know we’re in such good hands with our understudies & swings! @USCSDA
Night two of Urinetown at @USCSDA. The cast is really finding their stride, and tonight’s audience is even more enthusiastic than yesterday’s. And I’m having more fun than should be allowed at the conductor’s podium. #intermissiontweet
Having a wonderful time on opening night of URINETOWN at @USCSDA - the audience is… drinking it up! #intermissiontweet
What’s that, Little Sally? You want to know more about URINETOWN? Well, it opens tonight, and performs through April 5, 2023 in the Bing Theatre (or you can stream it wherever you are tonight and tomorrow)! Tickets and stream reservations are available at dramaticarts.usc.edu/urineto…
Happy 75th birthday to this absolute mensch. @BillyCrystal, it's an honor and a pleasure to have worked with you, and to know you. Happiest of birthdays and hope to see you soon.
