Probably a sign that the ad didn’t work

“Vice-President Vance said today that whether this ad by Vivek Ramaswamy was appropriate was not really his concern. Seriously? The question for all Republicans is whether this type of attitude is what we want leading our party going forward. For the last decade, our party has been infected by a corrupted moral center. Vance’s acceptance of this campaign ad only breathes life into the disease that we should be seeking to cure.”

Also in today's Morning Jolt, if you look at the horrific, sordid story of Amy Acton's childhood and conclude, “It would be a good idea to make an attack ad featuring Acton’s estranged mother denouncing her,” please see a therapist or perhaps a priest for an exorcism.

The difference is child rape. Hope this helps
Vivek Ramaswamy’s ad is apparently unprecedented. It would be just awful to activate all the members of a politician’s family to attack them…as the Democrats did with every member of RFK’s family.

Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Acton's mother has been estranged from her daughter for 48 years because she sided with her husband (Acton's stepfather) when Acton reported that her stepfather had sexually assaulted her. That is different than RFK Jr.'s family, whose criticism of RFK Jr is focused on policy. dispatch.com/story/news/loc…

“I always joke that the show got its name because I put as little thought as you could into what to call it. It was as literal as it gets. That was the beginning. And I haven’t stopped for 15 years.”

For the first time since a Friday afternoon in 2021 I am for this moment completely caught up, a state of being that will end when next I check an inbox but which for the moment I am taking as a win.

History lesson: House democratic judiciary chairman Peter Rodino hired 2 GOP lawyers to lead the Nixon watergate probe. The vote to impeach was bipartisan. The Supreme Court voted 8-0 to turn over the White House tapes. GOP senators Barry Goldwater & Hugh Scott told Nixon he would be convicted so he resigned. As Pres Ford said, our long national nightmare was over.
Idiots.
DOJ is reviewing whether the special prosecutor’s office that investigated the Watergate break-in committed misconduct, according to people familiar with the matter, more than half a century after that scandal led to Nixon’s resignation. W @PhilipWegmann
