“Good growth in every postcode. Hope in every heart.”
Over the last couple of days, I got a sense of what that actually feels like, in real life.
Not only did I get to meet some of the very first Rolls-Royce SMR apprentices who have started their training at Coleg Menai. Yesterday, I spoke to over 100 SMEs who’d assembled in Llangefni to hear more about the opportunities available as part of the @RollsRoyce SME supplier programme.
Too often it feels like change isn’t possible, that we’ve seen it all before. But with £2.6 billion of UK Government backing, there really is a serious commitment to making this happen.
Nuclear has always been a proud part of our history here in North Wales. And now, with Gwyndod – it’s part of our future again, too.
With over £1.4b of contracts to award in the next year - this is a massive opportunity for businesses all across North Wales.
If you’re a business owner in our area and weren’t able to make the event today. Drop me a line and I’ll send you the details.

Welsh Labour has secured an additional £60 million for additional learning needs - 50% more than earlier this year.
A step in the right direction, but we’ll keep fighting to secure more for our schools.

We will continue to work with teaching unions, local government leaders and teaching professionals to ensure we always get the best possible deal.
On #WorldMentalHealthDay we reflect on recent calls for our mental health service to "Be More Human". So let's begin with the language we use. #stigma #hope #agency
🌎 On #WorldMentalHealthDay Do people have a mental health "challenge" or a mental health "condition"? A challenge gives a person #dignity, #agency and #hope. But a condition is static, offers little or no hope or agency, and above all stigmatises the person? #stigma
Discuss. 🤔

Three years on from the October 7 attacks on Israel, we remember those who were senselessly killed by Hamas terrorists.
The impact of the attacks has been felt not just in Israel, but in Jewish communities across the world who still bear the burden of the tragic events that day.
In the years since, we have seen a disturbing rise in antisemitic behaviour in the UK.
A year ago we witnessed a horrifying terrorist attack on the Heaton Park Hebrew Congregation in Manchester, with further attacks against Jewish people and institutions since.
I want Britain’s Jewish community to hear this from me directly. We stand with you. Abuse and violence against you, in any form, will not be tolerated. Not on our streets, not online, not in our schools or universities.
That’s why we are funding protection for synagogues, schools and community buildings, and why we will come down hard on antisemitism wherever it is found - in classrooms, on campuses and in neighbourhoods.
At home, we are committed to protecting our citizens from vile hatred. Abroad, we continue to work towards a two-state solution, with Israelis and Palestinians living side by side in peace and security.
An attack on Jewish people in Britain is an attack on all of us. Antisemitism has no place in this country, and we will do everything we can to stamp it out.

Plaid Cymru's plan to provide free childcare for millionaires comes straight from the Conservative Party handbook.
It's not fair and it's not progressive.

In the next Parliament, Labour will build a National Care Service. This will be the biggest change to the provision of care in Britain since we established our NHS in the 1940s.
At Labour Party Conference, Prime Minister Andy Burnham explained why.
Everyone knows that Britain’s social care system is broken. And for decades, politicians have failed to fix it. That’s left millions of older people facing care costs which are too much to bear, and living in conditions which are not up to scratch.
It’s also increased pressure on our NHS. Visit any hospital and you will see the impact: older people who should be supported at home forced into A&E, and beds occupied by people who could leave hospital, but can’t get access to the help they need as they recover.
We won’t let this system continue.
So, the Labour way of looking after older people in our country will be a fundamental change.
By setting up a National Care Service, we’ll build a way of delivering care with the same principles as the NHS: where everyone contributes and everyone is covered.
Older people will be able to access good quality, free personal care with support for their needs. And our National Care Service will deliver care in the home wherever possible, giving older people the respect they deserve.
We’ll pay for it by adjusting the triple lock.
The triple lock will stay the same throughout this parliament. Labour pledged it in our manifesto and we’ll keep that promise.
From April 2030, we’ll adjust it, but it will always continue to rise. We will guarantee that the state pension will rise every year by either inflation or by 2.5% - whichever is higher.
Nobody’s pension will go down, and the state pension will be on a sustainable footing for the years to come.
We will start laying the groundwork for the National Care Service now, and introduce it in the next Parliament.
So this is Labour’s deal.
A state pension that rises every year.
And a high-quality National Care Service to give peace of mind in later life.
