💧 WHAT A START TO THE WATER YEAR!
We’re only 24 days into the new water year, which began October 1, and Utah’s statewide precipitation is already approaching record-high territory for this point in the season!
The latest data shows statewide precipitation sitting near 295% of the median. That’s nearly THREE TIMES what we typically see by this date. 🤯
After a long, hot summer and concerns about drought and water supply, this October storm pattern has delivered some much-needed moisture across Utah.
One important reminder: A wet start doesn’t erase our long-term water challenges. We still have a long way to go, and how the rest of the water year unfolds will be critical for our snowpack, reservoirs and water supply heading into next summer.
But there’s no question — this is an incredible start to the new water year! 💦

TODAY WAS ABSOLUTELY INSANE IN THE STOCK MARKET.
Here's everything you need to know:
1. $SPCX ripped about 7.8% after posting its first profit as a public company, with revenue up 161%. Musk said a SpaceX and Tesla merger would be "a good idea."
2. $SMCI jumped about 9.6% after guiding revenue and margins above estimates. $DELL rose about 5.3% and $HPE gained about 3.7% in sympathy.
3. The Philly semiconductor index rallied about 2%. $AMD gained more than 3% and $NVDA rose more than 2%, while $MU and $MRVL added nearly 2%.

5. $META beat with $64.60B in revenue and strong guidance, and it's creating a new class of non voting stock to fund AI. Shares were up about 2% after hours.
6. Telecom got crushed on fears SpaceX becomes a real competitor. $T sank about 6.5% despite a beat, $TMUS fell about 2.5% and $VZ dropped about 2.2%.
7. $NFLX tumbled about 5.3% on a weak Q4 profit forecast and an ad revenue guidance cut. After hours, $LRCX fell about 6% and $IBM reversed from up 11% to down about 5%.
8. Tech led all sectors, up about 1.6%. Communication services lagged, down about 1.3%, as $GOOGL slid about 1.6%.
9. The 10-year yield held near 5.11%, WTI oil settled about 0.7% lower at $97.15, and $BTC climbed about 2% to roughly $84,500. Gulf tensions and a US embassy staff pullout cooled buying late in the day.
10. The S&P 500 rose 0.58%, the Dow gained 0.69%, and the Nasdaq jumped 1.05%.
And that's just ONE trading day.
Are you ready for tomorrow?
