AUSTIN MAN slams into a stopped minivan at 103 mph on Mother's Day, right in front of a cop, and kills a fire captain hours after his fifth son was born. DA Jose Garza's office asked him to pay a small fine.
Marvin Taylor was on his way to pick up his four other boys so they could meet their new baby brother. He was sitting at a red light on Koenig Lane when a Dodge Durango doing 103 in a 45 zone slammed into him and threw his van 150 feet. He died pinned inside.
The officer found the driver, Rodney Bremby, with bloodshot eyes and slurred speech and stench of alcohol.
He was charged with intoxication manslaughter, which carries up to 20 years in prison. A judge revoked his bond twice while the case was pending, and both times he was back out within two weeks.
On Monday he got 10 years of probation, community service, and $535 in fees.
Five boys have lost their father, and the man who killed him just had to pay a small fine and promise not do it again before going back home.

Nick Shirley is the one who stood outside these Minnesota daycare centers with a camera and asked the questions nobody in charge seemed to want asked. Now look where things stand. Tim Walz is not running for re-election, and the federal government is still uncovering how much money was stolen on his watch.
Just yesterday FBI Director Kash Patel announced charges against four people accused of trying to take more than $41 million meant for people in need. Agents served 17 search warrants on childcare centers, health care centers and the suspects' homes. Dr. Oz said a jury in St. Paul convicted a woman named Sharmaine Meadows of stealing $3.6 million from Minnesota's Medicaid Housing Stabilization program, a program that has now been shut down, so the disabled and struggling people it was meant to help lost it too.
Stealing from the most vulnerable people in a state is about as low as it gets. This happened under Democrat leadership that looked the other way for years. Minnesota, Tuesday is your chance to choose something different.

ESPN fired a 3x World Series champion for saying a man is a man, but kept the host who called the sitting president a white supremacist.
When Curt Schilling shared a meme mocking men in women’s restrooms in 2016 and wrote that a man is a man no matter what they call themselves, ESPN dumped him within days claiming that it’s “inclusive.”
Before that, the network had already suspended him for comparing Muslim extremists to Nazis and insisted baseball analysts keep politics off their feeds.
But after Jemele Hill tweeted that Trump was a white supremacist in 2017, ESPN disavowed the remark but left her on SportsCenter.
Enforcement only tracked the preferred conclusion.
