October 22, 1970 - Atlanta Hawks rookie Pete Maravich scored 23 points, but the Hawks fell to the Detroit Pistons 120-101. Jimmy Walker led the Pistons with 29 points.
December 2, 1967 - Purdue sophomore Rick Mount makes his varsity debut against Lew Alcindor and the UCLA Bruins. UCLA would win a buzzer beater 73-71 despite 28 points from Purdue's Rick Mount.

October 17, 1970 - Atlanta Hawks rookie Pete Maravich made his NBA debut scoring seven points as the Milwaukee Bucks would defeat the Hawks 107-98.
October 15, 1966: The Chicago Bulls played their first-ever NBA game. It was a 104-97 win against the St. Louis Hawks.
October 8, 1970 - Atlanta's Lou Hudson scored 23 points and rookie Pete Maravich scored 19 points to lead the Hawks to a 105-104 preseason victory over the New York Knicks.
October 6, 1970 - The Atlanta Hawks defeated the Baltimore Bullets 99-97 in an NBA preseason double header at Madison Square Garden. The Hawks were led in scoring by Lou Hudson with 29 points and Pete Maravich with 22 points.
September 2, 1970 - The Milwaukee Bucks defeated the Atlanta Hawks 105-90. The Bucks were led by Lew Alcindor (32) and Oscar Robertson (24) in scoring. The Hawks were led by Lou Hudson with 29 points. Rookie Pete Maravich only scored 8 points
September 28, 1970 - Former LSU All-American Pete Maravich returned to Louisiana for a preseason game against the Philadelphia 76ers. Pete Maravich scored 28 points and displayed his showtime passing and dribbling, but the 76ers would defeat the Hawks 117-105.
September 26, 1970 - The Atlanta Hawks defeated the Boston Celtics 121-118 behind Lou Hudson's 30 points and 22 points from rookie Pete Maravich.
August 12, 1970 - LSU greats Bob Pettit and Pete Maravich announce that the Philadelphia 76ers would play the Atlanta Hawks in a preseason game on September 28th. in New Orleans.
September 22, 1970 - The Atlanta Hawks opened their 1970-71 NBA preseason against the Boston Celtics in Tallahassee, Florida at Tulley Gymnasium. It was the professional debut for Hawks rookie Pete Maravich who scored 16 points in a 121-105 loss to the Celtics.
