The “after” photo is what a great event looks like. 😴 We came to Money20/20 to talk about fraud detection and document AI, and left with a pipeline full of great people to follow up with. Thanks to everyone who made it so fun. #eventrecap #money2020recap #readyfortheweekend #ooo

🙌 That’s a wrap on @money2020 Vegas. Three days, a lot of good conversations, and one topic that kept coming up at our booth: document fraud is getting smarter, and most teams are still catching it by hand. Thanks to everyone who stopped by to see how Veryfi flags tampered receipts, checks, or any document types in seconds. #money2020 #recap #frauddetection #ai

Last week, we hosted an exclusive dinner at Mountain House in Woodside - Tech in the Woods. 🪵 It was an evening built around good food, real conversation, and connecting with the customers and partners who make what we do possible. Thank you to everyone who joined us. Moments like these are a reminder that the best conversations happen away from the conference room. More dinners to come. 🥂 #partnersdinner #tech #BayArea

Two Veryfiers, two different finish lines. 🚀 Huge congrats to @dbirulia , who took on the Napa-to-Sonoma Half Marathon, and Fatima Aliyeva, who ran @theSFmarathon , both this weekend - we're so proud of you both. And yes, Vee was right there on the shirt giving them power every mile of the way. 🙌 #marathon #bayarea

Introducing Veryfi On-Device Field Detection. 🎉 🧾 🔍 The Veryfi Lens SDK capability now validates and extracts data from a receipt the moment it's captured, so bad data never makes it past the confirmation screen. Blurry total. Missing date. Wrong vendor. Normally you don't find out until it's already in your system - rejected, flagged, or quietly messing up your data. Since 2017, we've been building AI-powered document processing infrastructure for teams who can't afford messy data - expense platforms, loyalty programs, lenders, and the developers building on top of them. On-Device Field Detection checks vendor, date, and total the second a receipt is captured - right on the confirmation screen, before you hit submit. No server call. No lag. Works completely offline. You decide what gets flagged for the user to fix, and what gets blocked from submission entirely. Users fix it on the spot. Your data comes in clean from the first capture. This is just the beginning. #productlaunch #receiptextraction #ocr #ai

That’s who California desperately needs
San José Mayor Matt Mahan has seen his odds to become the next California Governor more than double in the last 48 hours from 6% to 14%. He’s in second place behind Tom Steyer (53%)

Nick Shirley has everyone yelling about “fraud in CA” again. Strip the politics -> the numbers are the point: • CA EDD unemployment fraud was estimated at ~$20B-$32B during COVID • US “improper payments” run ~$162B/year (GAO/CMS style reporting) - a lot of it is docs + verification failures This is what every biz learns the hard way: fraud scales when verification is weak and reconciliation is slooooow AI helps where it actually matters: - detect fake documents - extract fields + attach provenance - reconcile invariants (line items -> totals, dates, tax rules) - flag anomalies before money moves Make fraud expensive and fraudsters accountable!
🚨 Here is the full 40 minutes of my crew and I exposing California fraud, Minnesota was big but California is even bigger... We uncovered over $170,000,000 in fraud as these fraudsters live in luxury with no consequences. Like it and share it, the fraud must STOP. We ALL work way too hard and pay too much in taxes for this to be happening. These fraudsters have been able to defraud American taxpayers for years without any pushback from the public and politicians. It is time to EXPOSE IT ALL and end America's fraud crisis.

"SAP costs $700M to upgrade, takes 3 years, and needs 50 Accenture consultants." 70% of enterprise transformations fail. This is why AI for legacy systems is a bigger opportunity than any shiny new AI app. The boring stack is where the money is. a16z.news/p/why-the-world-st…
