Fantastic interviewing from the BBCโ€™s @sallynugent. Imagine if Farage had got this kind of scrutiny and persistent questioning from UK media interviewers over the past decade? The UK might not be in the mess it is today. Look how annoyed and uncomfortable he is.
Car crash alert ๐Ÿšจ Sally Nugent asks Nigel Farage about Raheem Kassam's โ€œNigerian scammerโ€ comments on Kemi Badenoch and his response is painful to watch. #bbcbreakfast

Hey, @BBC, I hear there's not been a single word about @itvnews' programme on @reformparty_uk's behaviour that was aired last night. Why is this? Very weird!

Left: Conservative Helen Whately criticised Labour for 174,000 young people unemployed under Labour, suggesting they have the policies to fix it Right: But under the Conservatives, there were 872,000 young people unemployed, because of Conservative policy My view: Helen Whately talks as though the Conservatives have just arrived to discover a problem somebody else created. They governed Britain for 14 years. They had 14 years to improve education, strengthen training and help young people into secure employment. Yet in the final full quarter before they left office, an estimated 872,000 young people were outside education, employment or training. Roughly one in eight. That is a record they must answer for. If their policies offer such convincing solutions now, why did their government leave so many young people without those opportunities? Whately cannot claim authority on fixing the problem while skipping over her partyโ€™s responsibility for tackling it when it actually held power. Fourteen years gave the Conservatives ample time to turn promises into results. Labour deserves scrutiny. But Conservative politicians demanding better outcomes should start by explaining their own failures. Losing an election does not wipe away 14 years in governmentโ€”or turn the people who failed to solve a problem into credible experts on fixing it.

Reform's policy of blaming illegal migration for everything, and claiming that dealing with it will fix everything is ripped apart beautifully, in just 1 minute. It's the same scam Hitler and Mussolini were selling 100 years ago.

Replying to @Bishop_Beesley
So the whole SLAPP suit on @carolecadwalla was just for fun? So Cambridgeshire Analytics was a figment of our imaginationโ€™s? Russian state media was pushing pro-Leave coverage, there were bots amplifying every word from Farage, and the 2020 Intelligence and Security Committee report found the government basically avoided properly looking into interference attempts (MI5 gave them almost nothing). Boris killed the enquiry! Whether any of it actually swung the result is still not certain - Leave won by a tiny margin - Burnham says he was told interference attempts happened.

โ€ผ๏ธ This is a constitutional bombshell. For the first time, a British prime minister has confirmed that UK authorities believe Russia interfered in the 2016 Brexit referendum. That does not prove Russia changed the result, nor does it establish criminal involvement by Leave campaigners. But it confirms that a hostile state attempted to interfere in the most consequential democratic decision Britain has taken in generations. The 2020 Russia Report could not reach a conclusion because the government had neither commissioned nor supplied a proper post-referendum assessment. Boris Johnsonโ€™s government then rejected the Intelligence and Security Committeeโ€™s request for one. Andy Burnham must now publish an unclassified account setting out: โ€ข what Russia did; โ€ข which voters and organisations were targeted; โ€ข how extensive the operation was; โ€ข what ministers and intelligence agencies knew; and โ€ข why the truth was withheld for so long. Nobody can credibly insist that the decision of 2016 is eternally sacred while simultaneously arguing that the public must never be allowed to reconsider it, especially now that Russian interference has been officially confirmed. Brexit was authorised by a referendum conducted without these facts. Britain deserves the truth and a democratic opportunity to decide its future again.

In the last 72 hours the US has: -> Announced a barbaric livestreamed execution. -> Sanctioned the International Criminal Court. -> Made a deal to help finance Russia's war machine. -> Pressured multiple countries to withdraw their sponsorship of a leading European conference on disinformation. And we all just carry on as normal this weekend? Like the arrival of a new fascist dictatorship isn't upon us? WHAT IS HAPPENING? Why are there no world leaders prepared to even talk about this, let alone take a stand? I feel like I'm screaming into the void but surely someone, somewhere outside the US is thinking similarly. Surely?

Should there be a law that you cannot be eligible to be an MP if you are born abroad? With the greatest will in the world, this ladyโ€™s loyalties will be with Somalia where she was born. She should not be making laws that affect British people.

In 1979-80 the cost of local authority elderly residential care was ยฃ63 per week, which was 58% of an average wage. In 2026 it is ยฃ1298, or 184% of an average wage. Privatisation of care is basically a letter of marque. Licence for the depraved to prey on the desperate.
