As you know, none of these are examples of a school secretly sending a child for surgery without their parents’ consent, which is what the president has been claiming over and over. If he wants to join his aides and other conservatives in criticizing how some states/schools are handling social transitions and broader gender issues, he’s free to do so.
— Staff at Algonquin Regional High School in Massachusetts facilitated a 15-year-old girl’s "transition" through after-school "counseling" they led her parents to believe was math help.
— A school psychologist in California's Arcadia Unified School District encouraged a young girl to "transition" instead of treating her depression — and when the girl's mother refused to go along with the school's scheme, she lost custody. Tragically, the young girl went on to die by suicide.
— Teachers at Buena Vista Middle School in California taught a young girl how to bind her breasts and referred to her using sex-rejecting pronouns — without telling her mother.
— A school counselor at the Great Salt Bay Community School in Maine gave a 13-year-old girl chest binders and instructed the girl to conceal it from her mother.
— Leon County School District in Florida created a "student support plan" to facilitate the "transition" of a middle school child, without notifying the child's parents.
— The California Department of Education led a concerted, illegal effort to pressure schools to hide gender "transitions" from parents.
— Public schools in Kansas City, Kansas, directed staff to develop "transition" plans for their students without parental knowledge or consent.
Trump keeps saying the law required Sen. Roger Marshall to aggressively pursue patients’ unpaid bills and that Marshall could’ve been arrested if he didn’t.
In reality:
1) The law the White House told me Trump was talking about gives doctors wide latitude to forgive the debts of patients with financial difficulties…as even an article the White House sent me says
2) Marshall himself told CNN last week that “we wrote off hundreds of people’s bills every month” and also provided millions in annual “charity care”
3) The controversy centers on Marshall’s hundreds of lawsuits against patients, and the law never requires lawsuits. Federal authorities have made clear that the “reasonable collection effort” standard often required of providers is satisfied by sending bills and doing follow-up like letters and phone calls
4) Nothing required Marshall’s 18% annual interest rate, which a Kansas City Star review of court records found was unusually high even among the Kansas practices that did sue patients

For the second straight election, Trump is lying that schools in multiple states send kids off for gender surgery without their parents' knowledge.
For the second straight election, his team can't find a single example of that having ever happened in any state.

Asked about Trump's false claims that schools in multiple states are allowed to send kids for gender surgery without parental consent, the president of the National Association of School Nurses notes schools typically need written parental consent *to give a kid a Tylenol.* cnn.com/2026/10/20/politics/…
I find the timing notable:
In 2024, it was the final months of the campaign when Trump introduced his vivid lies about schools sending kids off for secret gender surgeries.
In 2026, he’s revived the lies for the final weeks of the campaign.

Only had time to watch like 12 minutes of the president’s ongoing speech, but that was a large number of lies in like 12 minutes of a president’s speech.
1) This Biden thing never happened. There was a hoax viral video in 2020 in which someone edited a sign to make it look like Biden was in Florida when he greeted Minnesota. But the actual sign said MN.
2) Since the point of this Trump commentary is that he is cognitively superior: Xi visited three weeks ago, not last week.
The US government paid for the wall with money from Americans and then also collected tariff payments from Americans.
Trump: Mexico did pay for the wall… because I charged them tariffs
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
US importers, not Mexico, pay tariffs on goods from Mexico. The border wall was funded by US federal appropriations, with Mexico contributing nothing.

1) A trade deficit is not a loss
2) The deficit with Canada was $27B last year, not the $90B he keeps using
3) The deficit with Canada exists because American companies buy a lot of cheap Canadian oil
4) Uh, what
Trump: I do not want to lose $90 billion for the privilege of allowing Canada to have a healthcare system and other things that they shouldn't have. They spend our money!
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
The statement in the video misstates the US-Canada trade deficit as a $90B loss subsidizing healthcare; the goods and services deficit was $27B in 2025 and stems mainly from US purchases of Canadian oil while Canada's system is funded by its own taxes.

Trump: we are running low on ammo not because of my war on Iran but because Biden gave “massive amounts” of Tomahawks to Ukraine.
The U.S. didn’t supply a single Tomahawk to Ukraine.
President Trump has been telling vague lies about inflation all midterms. This week he’s been going a step further — repeatedly using specific but fake inflation numbers instead of the actual numbers: cnn.com/2026/10/15/politics/…
The White House wouldn’t even try to give me an explanation for Trump’s nonsensical new claim that he is at “1.7%” inflation compared to Biden’s “19%.”
A look at Trump’s latest phony figures, the real ones, and what may or may not be going on: cnn.com/2026/10/15/politics/…
I put President Trump's regular claim that "nobody" knows Kamala Harris's last name somewhere near the top of the power rankings of bewilderingly false Trump assertions, a spot or two behind his regular claim that "nobody" knows the word dumb ends with the letter B.
These numbers do not make any sense.
*Cumulative* inflation under Biden, the total increase in prices over four years, was 21%. But there's no equivalent "1.7%" for the Trump era. Cumulative inflation so far this term is 5.4% *over 20 months.*
Year-over-year inflation peaked at 9.1% under Biden in June 2022, not 19%, and it had fallen to 2.9% in Dec. 2024 and 3.0% in Jan. 2025, the month Trump was sworn back in. It was 3.4% in July 2026, 3.4% in August 2026 and 3.7% in Sept. 2026.

The president likes to tell these lie-upon-lie conversion stories in which unnamed skeptics who used to say he was wrong have now supposedly come to realize he's right, though he remains as wrong as ever. xitter.cf/Acyn/status/2110550171…
The year-over-year inflation rates in July, August and September: 3.4%, 3.4%, 3.7%.
The total 3-month increase in prices was 1.1%, but that isn't the number Trump used, and it certainly isn't "very low."
I've asked the White House for an explanation. xitter.cf/Acyn/status/2110495497…
