Your odds of being great at anything are directly proportional to your willingness to suck at it for a long time.
Xanadu has announced its second QROM breakthrough of the year, this time using "dense encoding", achieving up to a four-fold reduction in compute requirements compared to legacy industry approaches.
With this increase in algorithmic efficiency, Xanadu is actively reducing the size and cost of hardware required to run commercial quantum applications.

We are *doubling down* on new grad and co-op hiring at @relayfinancial, because this is the first fully AI-native generation. And some of our most exciting work right now comes from pairing that AI instinct with experienced leadership.
So my advice to new grads and anyone early in their career: ignore the fearmongers telling you AI will destroy jobs.
Every industrial revolution in history has tried to solve a major problem. Each one disrupted industries, and in the process we redirected, retooled, and retrained human effort toward solving new problems.
That’s exactly what is happening with new grads and AI.
You are learning to think with and use these tools the same way that previous generations learned to think with a search engine.
Over the past 2 years at Relay, we’ve seen juniors ramp up faster than ever. Co-ops and new grads ship meaningful work within weeks of starting (unheard of in the past), and they want in on the biggest, most ambitious problems we’re solving for our customers.
So if you're early in your career and have AI projects to talk about, we want to hear from you.
Come build with us. 🚀

Stop looking to the government to solve all of our problems
We need to re-emphasize that before government comes personal responsibility, then family responsibility, then community responsibility
On most issues, we should think of the government as the solution of last resort.

holy. Brian May, lead guitarist from Queen, got his PhD in astrophysics from Imperial College in 2007 - at the age of 60. 🤯
Great fun trading used guitar picks with Brian May of Queen.
He uses old sixpences, and was kind enough to find one with my birthyear at our concert this weekend. I use hard plastic ones, the mission emblem from my 3rd spaceflight.
(such a fine person, Sir Brian May, PhD astrophysicist & phenomenal musician/human, @DrBrianMay of @QueenWillRock)

Interesting poll data and questions. It’s clear that Torontonians want to see council move faster, experiment more, and be more willing to take risk in pursuit of reforms.
There is an eagerness to see the city do better!

Edward Kholodenko is an Orthodox Jew who built @Questrade into Canada’s leading trading platform, overseeing $60 billion.
But what makes his story even more incredible is what he does with his success.
He gives tens of millions of dollars a year to charity.
Born in the Soviet Union, Edward immigrated to Canada, faced setbacks in business, and kept going until he built a financial empire.
Today, he’s an entrepreneur, philanthropist, and a proud Orthodox Jew.
His story is a powerful reminder that success isn’t just about how much money you make, but what you do with it.

I’m always proud to be a part of the Build Canada mission, but it’s even more rewarding on days like these.
Both parents and children alike walked out of our “Bagels & Books” event inspired by the freedoms which make Canada so special. 🇨🇦❤️

We can teach the next generation to dream big & build ambitiously. That’s the Canadian way. 🇨🇦

Anti-American rhetoric is all over Canada.
Yet U.S. immigrant visas issued in Canada are up 142%.
Canadian applicants for employer-sponsored U.S. green cards had median salary offers of US$137K and 43% worked in tech, mathematics and engineering.
By comparison, the median annual salary in Canada is $34,786 USD.
Watch what people do, not what they say.

incredibly interesting. @aquapoiesis, nice.
I’m looking for 6 Toronto families to try Torch, the instrument we’re building to make playing and singing easier.
Beginners or lapsed players. Borrow one for Nov; help us learn what makes you keep playing—or stop.
