It's encouraging that SEISS is going up to 80% for November. But it is disingenuous to imply this is anywhere near parity with employed people. In December #SEISS returns to 40%. And there's still no word on closing gaps in support that 38% musicians & 3m #ExcludedUK fall through
1/ We're increasing the support to the self-employed from 40% of trading profits to 80% for November. SEISS is calculated over 3 months so this increases the total grant from 40% to 55% of trading profits for November to January and the max grant increases to £5,160.

Am i right in thinking that most festivals don’t even break even until they are at like 85% capacity or something?
The UK government confirms that outdoor gigs and festivals are allowed to make their return this weekend – as long as they have “a limited and socially distanced audience”. kerrang.com/the-news/governm…

We're joining the #LetTheMusicPlay campaign to urge the government to help support the UK's live music industry - if we don't act, it may never recover. We hope you'll join us in sharing photos of your last live gig - let's remember what's at stake here 🌳💚

It absolutely blows my mind that there is still division on the race issue in 2020. There are literally people saying “yeah, but...” in response to the phrase #blacklivesmatter. THERE IS NO “BUT”. BLACK. LIVES. MATTER.

George Floyd and I were both arrested for allegedly spending a counterfeit $20 bill. For George Floyd, a man my age, with two kids, it was a death sentence. For me, it is a story I sometimes tell at parties. That, my friends, is White privilege.
