Proposed Community Glossary (EDC / ECDO / Related Catastrophe & Plasma Theories): Terms commonly used by Ben Davidson (@SunWeatherMan), Roger B. Cunningham (@EthicalSkeptic), Stephanie Buchanan, and others in this research community. Note: This glossary includes both established scientific concepts and working hypotheses. Scientific understanding advances as hypotheses are tested, accepted, refined, or rejected. Core Theories EDC: Earth’s Disaster Cycle (also Earth Catastrophe Cycle). Ben Davidson’s model of recurring planetary catastrophes roughly every 6,000 to 12,000 years involving solar activity, geomagnetic weakening, crustal instability, mega tsunamis, and biosphere resets. He argues the current cycle is underway, with peak risk in coming decades. ECDO: Exothermic Core Mantle Decoupling – Dzhanibekov Oscillation. Roger B. Cunningham’s model in which exothermic processes at the core mantle boundary reduce coupling between the core and outer shell, allowing rapid gyroscopic reorientation of the mantle and crust (True Polar Wander). Key Shared / Related Concepts Micronova (Solar Flash): Powerful solar outburst stronger than typical flares but weaker than a full nova that may trigger or amplify disaster cycle events. Pole Shift / Crustal Displacement: Rapid reorientation of Earth’s outer layers. Often about 90 degrees in EDC discussions and about 104 degrees along a preferred meridian in ECDO. Geomagnetic Excursion: Temporary major weakening and displacement of Earth’s magnetic field, viewed as a key precursor. Magnetic Reversal: Complete long term polarity flip, distinct from a temporary excursion. True Polar Wander (TPW): Shift of geographic poles relative to the spin axis due to mass redistribution or decoupling. Np′ (Np Prime): ECDO’s proposed previous geographic North Pole. Many ancient sites align better with Np′ than today’s pole. ORB (Outer Rotational Body): Mantle and crust treated as a coupled shell that can decouple and reorient independently of the core. Snap: Rapid (roughly 6 to 24 hour) reorientation phase in ECDO. Dzhanibekov Effect / Oscillation: Intermediate Axis Theorem (Tennis Racket Theorem), describing the preferred path of least resistance for the outer shell’s flip. Indigo Point: ECDO marker that significant core heating and field weakening have already begun. Tau Point: ECDO marker for approaching full decoupling and the next major oscillation. D″ Layer: Boundary layer at the core mantle interface where lubricating material is proposed to be released. Solar, Plasma & Ancient Evidence Galactic Current Sheet: Hypothesized plasma region associated with the Solar System’s motion through the galaxy. Peratt Instabilities / Plasma Owls: High energy plasma forms identified by Anthony Peratt. Similar shapes appear in petroglyphs worldwide. Z Pinch: Plasma configuration that compresses currents into filamentary structures central to Plasma Cosmology and Peratt’s research. Auroral Plasma: Exceptionally energetic auroral displays proposed to explain many ancient myths, sky descriptions, and petroglyphs. Geological & Historical Context Catastrophism: View that Earth’s history has been shaped by rapid, large scale catastrophic events. Uniformitarianism: Principle that most geological features result from the same gradual processes observed today acting over long periods. Laschamp Excursion: Major geomagnetic excursion about 42,000 years ago, frequently cited as an analogue for present day field weakening. Adams Event: Name popularized by Cooper, Turney, and colleagues for environmental changes linked to the Laschamp Excursion. Heinrich Event: Massive North Atlantic iceberg discharges associated with abrupt climate shifts. Proxy Evidence: Indirect records such as ice cores, tree rings, sediments, and isotopes used to reconstruct Earth’s past. Cosmogenic Isotopes (¹⁰Be, ¹⁴C): Radioisotopes produced by cosmic rays and used to reconstruct past solar activity and geomagnetic strength.

Literally worked this man to the bone.

I walk by this every. This buck toothed guy needs a caption. Thoughts?

What a glorious evening. The air is balmy and breezy. The kind of night air that gently caresses your skin and tousles your hair. What a night to be alive!
