It is illegal to burn down someone’s house in order to force them to buy a new one, but wealthy and powerful people have found a way around pesky laws. Capitalism. And what a killing they are making. There’s nothing more profitable than wrecking lives and wrecking the planet.

NEW: On Friday, dockworkers at 111 ports in 22 countries and regions on five continents will stop work in a coordinated strike against war, according to the most recent information from the organizing unions. More than 25 dockworkers’ unions have now signed on, from Marseille to Mumbai, Hamburg to Montevideo, Melbourne to Oakland. Days ago the count stood at about 100 ports in 17 countries, and that figure doesn’t include the dozens of unions in other sectors that have pledged support. Their demand is simple: no weapons and no military cargo through their ports. Nearly everything the world ships passes through the docks, and without the workers who load and unload it, nothing moves. In France, the main dockers’ union says the country’s ports will be 95% shut. Italy, India, Greece and Turkey face 24-hour strikes, and Morocco and Cyprus will see stoppages of up to two hours, with rallies planned in port cities around the world. In Greece, metalworkers, ship-repair workers and young people are joining the dockers, and in the US, ILWU Local 10 is striking in Oakland and San Francisco. The unions are working from the Istanbul Declaration, signed in May, with each one deciding for itself how to take part. They are also fighting for their own jobs, against cuts from automation and for contracts, raises, shorter hours and safety. The unions point to escalating wars in Ukraine and the Middle East and the danger of a generalized war. They condemn Israel’s new crimes in Hebron, carried out with the backing of the US, NATO and the EU. Israel’s lockdown of the city is now in its sixth day, with more than 3,000 Palestinians displaced, according to the UN. Palestinian unions have endorsed Friday’s action. In Italy, the fight has spilled beyond the docks. The union USB has called for a nationwide general strike. Last night, the Italian government ordered transport workers back on the job last night. USB said it would defy the order and accept the steep penalties. The unions are calling on workers and young people everywhere to stand with the dockworkers, saying “Ports for peace and the peoples, not launching pads for war.” I’m reporting from Calabria, Italy, and I will be in Genoa tomorrow ahead of the strike to report on the ground during the mobilzation.

With almost no media coverage, in great part because the majority of these villages were Shia, Israel has completely leveled 48 of 60 cities in Southern Lebanon. It might be the single biggest ethnic cleansing campaign in modern history with the least international pushback.

Some people didn't realize I was talking about Israel. Once Zionism and the empire fall, human intelligence will rebound a bit
I am 100% sure that if black and brown people violently took over the US and created a system where white people are allowed to vote in 12 states out of the 50 (but can never be part of the government) while the rest of them lived under a military dictatorship it would be one hell of a great, exemplary democracy

Please help! It’s urgent.
💔 Sadly, I haven’t received any donations in a long time, and I haven’t been able to raise anything. My wife is in her ninth month of pregnancy, and her health and our baby’s condition have become a serious concern. We have been told that she needs a cesarean section, and I’m terrified because I still haven’t been able to buy the essential supplies for her delivery or prepare the things our baby will need. I am Mousa, a young man in my twenties, trying to carry the responsibility of caring for my family despite my own injury. Amid the hunger and extremely difficult conditions in Gaza, I feel helpless. I want to protect my wife and welcome our baby safely, but I don’t know how to provide what they need. I’m still trying to raise the remaining $570 to buy food for my family and the essential supplies needed for the birth and our newborn. 🤍 🙏 Please, if you can, consider donating $10 or $20. Every contribution could help us prepare for this critical moment. If you cannot donate, please share or quote my pinned post so more people can see our situation. I’m sorry to keep asking, my friends. I’m simply a husband and father trying to care for his family during one of the hardest times of our lives. chuffed.org/project/178005-m…

Wow! Canadian journalist asks Moshe Feiglin, a former Likud Member of Knesset, if he is concerned about Israel's plummeting global standing. Feiglin's response is chilling, as it reveals the fundamental supremacist view he and many in Israel hold. He says that the real moral supreme court is in Israel, ie with the people of Israel. The Bible says, he explains, that those who bless Israel will be blessed, and those who curse Israel will be cursed. As a result, it's we - Israelis - who get to judge you, rather than you judging us. And then he adds? "Are you with the children of God or not?"

Over 600,000 'double-envelope votes' remain in Israel, could shift 14 Knesset seats —— More than 600,000 'double-envelope votes' remain to be counted, equivalent to around 14 Knesset seats, according to Israeli Army Radio correspondent Doron Kadosh and the Central Elections Committee (CEC). While most ballots are expected to be counted today, the final tally of double-envelope votes may not be completed until Friday due to high voter turnout. The number of these ballots is significantly higher than in the 2022 election, with Acting CEC director Dean Livne warning that the unexpectedly large volume could delay the count. 'Double-envelope ballots' are cast by soldiers, including reservists, prisoners, medical personnel, people with medical conditions, and Israeli representatives serving abroad. Voters place their anonymous ballot inside one envelope and then into a second envelope bearing their identifying details, allowing officials to verify that they have not voted elsewhere without linking them to their vote. Historically, these ballots have tended to reduce representation for Palestinian and Haredi parties while benefiting Zionist parties. The financial daily Globes reports that Palestinian parties could lose seats once the remaining votes are counted, although the large number of reservists serving this year across the political spectrum makes the outcome harder to predict. Despite their potential impact on individual parties, the votes are not expected to fundamentally change the balance between political blocs.

Do you know they flew in Jews from over the world who never lived in the Middle East to vote in Israel elections? So you are saying an Australian Jew can vote and an Arab whose family lived there thousands of years can’t?

Lemme break it down for y’all. A new Middle East order around Palestine, without the Palestinians. Gulf royals, Trump’s son-in-law, mercenaries, billions in investment money, and Israel all playing their part in the same regional power game. But here’s the bit that gets me as a Palestinian: everyone’s negotiating Israel’s security, Gulf interests and Washington’s ambitions. So who the hell is negotiating Palestinian rights and self determination? No one…

🇮🇹 Port workers across Europe, Africa, Asia and North America plan to strike Friday to protest weapons shipments to war zones. Organizers say the action could stall about 40,000 shipping containers across some 100 ports in 17 countries, from Oakland to Hamburg to Veracruz, Progressive International reports. Organizers condemned the genocide of the Palestinian people, perpetrated by Israel with US, NATO and EU backing. They are also demanding an end to ports serving as bases for Western militaries, an end to European rearmament, and higher wages. In Italy, eight ports will strike, and the rank-and-file union USB has called a general strike across every sector. Seventeen Palestinian trade union bodies have endorsed the action. Livorno offered a preview last week. Global Sumud Flotilla sailboats kept a ship that unions say supplies the US Navy base at Sigonella, in Sicily, out of port for six hours, and dockworkers then refused to load it. Police seized the boats and reported 10 activists to prosecutors. On Monday, flotilla boats blocked the same ship off Sicily, and police reported 10 more. 🔗 Link in reply.
