On this day exactly 1 year ago, we finished medical school and a few weeks later, preparation for induction started until…
A few months after our exams, we were told that only a few of us would be getting inducted because of the quota.
1/4 done ✔️
Finished Internal Medicine, and I've confirmed it's not the speciality for me.
Surgery up next. Paediatric Surgery is one of the specialities I'm considering, hoping I enjoy it enough to stay.
12 weeks done.
36 more to go.

Sorry, but I don't like trouble, I don't want to prove to anybody that I am the good doctor...
I did my house job in a secondary centre and one thing my registrar always told us "the unbooked patient in labour, is that patient sent by your village people to come after your license" and till date the warning he gave us is till very loud in my ears, never do a VE for an unbooked patient in labour without a recent scan.
If you don't come with a recent scan at 36 weeks and above, he will refer you to a teaching hospital where they have blood bank and emergency theatre.
Dr Emmanuel is a fresh doctor 2 weeks post housejob.
He got a job in a private hospital in the mainland.
1 week morning duty alternating with one week night duty with only one weekend cover every month.
He also covers another hospital when he's on night duty and free weekends.
He's making a cool 700-800k in yotal every month.
Dr Emma is a big boy.
He's a happy Lagos doctor.
Then one night everything went wrong.
It was one of his night duties when he was woken from sleep at 2am that a lady in labour was just rushed in.
He took a quick history in which the lady said she has been having some contractions since morning and saw some slight bleeding.
The woman brought no ultrasound scan and the facility has no ultrasound machine.
Dr Emmanuel misinterpreted the bleeding as show and examining her tummy, he detected only one contraction in 10 minutes.
So he decided to take her to the labour ward for a vaginal examination.
He put on the sterile gloves and put his hand in and thats when he felt it.
He suddenly went pale and still.
Rather than feeling the head, he felt his hand puncture a spongy mass and that's when it started.
The lady started bleeding.
Initially mildly and then torrentially.
He knew he had made a massive mistake.
He has done a vaginal examination for a placenta previa.
Rookie mistake.
Without removing his hand, he called his MD about what has happend and the nurses started preparing the theater for cesarean section.
He informed the pregnant lady about what has to be done and got the consent.
However, he had to keep his hand in that vagina for an hour while the theater was prepped and his MD arrived.
By some luck, the baby and mother survived without any complications and the mother only needed blood transfusion.
However, the husband inputted the whole scenario into Chatgpt who blamed the doctor for malpractice.
The husband then refused to pay and threaten to sue the hospital but Dr Emmanuel paid the bills of the surgery to save his licence.
Now what do you think about this story?
Do you think Dr Emmanuel treatment was fair?
11 weeks✔️
37 more to go till the end of HJ 🤭
1 week left in IM 💃
One day, I'll talk about meeting some of the meanest Dr's and, in the same unit, some of the kindest.
The pipeline of future toxic medical snrs seems to be functioning perfectly. It's not ending anytime soon

As you resume work tomorrow and join your morning stand-up meeting, don't make the mistake of saying, "I have no transactions" or "I'm not currently working on any deal." When you're doing your presentation.
The moment you say that, you've put yourself on for drag. To management, it can come across as if you're not making any effort, and you can easily become a target when performance discussions come up.
Instead, talk about your activities and progress.
You can say:
"On Thursday, I visited XYZ Market and generated three leads. Two of them have requested that I come back on Tuesday to collect their documents."
Or:
"On Friday, I met the manager of XYZ Retail Store. We discussed our instant POS solution, and he asked me to begin the onboarding process because they are experiencing delays with reversals on their current provider."
Always have something to report. Talk about your engagements, meetings, prospects, pipeline, and next steps. Give numbers where you can and speak with confidence.
The reality is that sales is a game of activity before it becomes a game of results. If the results haven't landed yet, at least show that the work is happening.
Once the meeting is over, get back into the field and continue pushing your opportunities forward.

If you need a reminder of how lawless this country is, remember that 44 doctors who finished medical school at the University of Ilorin last year have still not been inducted and it's been 9 months since their final examinations.
No one is holding the school authorities accountable. It's been business per usual.
