We did it! In a landmark verdict, the Indian Patent Office rejected Johnson and Johnson’s patent application that would have extended the monopoly on key anti-TB drug #Bedaquiline! @ptisile and I – both of us TB survivors -- had filed pre-grant opposition against the application

India’s National #TB Elimination Program aims to eliminate the disease by 2025. @deepticomesback, a #TB Survivor & activist, believes that tools like #AI can make this goal a reality. First, however, all stakeholders must jointly ensure better implementation of existing health policies and incorporation of new solutions like #AI. AI can also aid in accurate diagnosis and prediction for ‘at-risk’ individuals who are often friends and family of already infected individuals. So, Deepti envisions better diagnosis & treatment, affordable healthcare plans, as well as provision of post-treatment care to eliminate TB holistically. @SATB1231 @shibuvij #worldtbday #WorldTBDay2023 #YesWeCanEndTB
