Brazil’s results tonight are a big endorsement for the idea that every country should have a second “are you you sure about that” election a couple weeks after the first one for the important stuff

Raman was pitched as an LA Zohran. She’s not. She wont defend BDS. She can’t even explain what socialism is. It was wildly irresponsible of the chapter to endorse someone so ill prepared to represent DSA in such an important position.
Is L.A. mayoral candidate Nithya Raman a capitalist?
"I'm a capitalist and I'm also a Democratic Socialist...we need to make sure capitalism works without harm to workers... to poor people."
She says the DSA is a "big tent" but she disagrees with members who call to abolish police, prisons and the Senate.

Lowk this letter from Mayor Beame to Mayor Mamdani makes me sad, what potential we have squandered. May we fight for a world where we can make good on those aspirations

We’re excited to announce the Socialists Must Lead slate for City Convention!
Socialists Must Lead (Groundwork & Friends) sees 2028 as the biggest opening socialists have had in generations, and NYC-DSA needs to be ready to run AOC for president and a socialist cadre for Senate.

every facet of socialist factional struggle, from packing a vote to producing social media, incentivizes the formation of blocs who can give more energy to factionalism by doing less and less outside of it. nevertheless, those blocs must not win.

Amacher did not merely double down on wrong information; he posed as Talarico's cousin and fabricated a patient verification code to contact the Lindner Center.

The Mets should sign Freddy Peralta just as a science experiment. To see if he can suck again.
One thing about Joe Davis is he loves saying “deuces wild” when there are 2 people on base, 2 outs, and a 2-2 count. Even better if it’s in the 2nd inning.

As a dual citizen of the Ysleta del Sur Pueblo Nation and the U.S., today I’m reminded of our resistance and our resilience, and that the fight against colonialism is not done.
We have survived even in the face of genocide, displacement, and assimilationist policies meant to erase our cultures, languages, and histories. For generations, the federal government has ignored its treaties and obligations, threatened our sacred sites, and polluted our water and ancestral homelands.
But we’re still here — over 180,000 Native Americans call New York City home. We honor Lenapehoking, the homeland of the Lenape people, and the people of many Native Nations from across North America who live here today.
With courage and persistence we continue our fight: for justice for missing and murdered Indigenous women and Two-Spirit people, for housing and a livable planet, for our land back, for the sovereignty Indian Country deserves.
And we carry that struggle across the world: for Puerto Rican self-determination, for a free Palestine, for land defenders in the Amazon, and for the freedom of Indigenous and working class people everywhere.
But today we celebrate: not only our fight, but our culture and our crafts, our languages and our land, our ancestors and our elders. Happy Indigenous Peoples’ Day.

This afternoon in Marble Hill, a New Yorker was shot by an ICE agent in a residential neighborhood. Early reports indicate agents surrounded him and a 5-year-old child in his car before firing multiple rounds. We believe the child was physically unharmed.
This is an unconscionable and incredibly serious situation. I have called the President; when we speak I will demand that he ends all ICE enforcement actions in our city. I will not stand by while ICE agents terrorize our communities.
Our thoughts are with the injured New Yorker and his family tonight. We are praying for his recovery.
Get ICE out of our neighborhoods. Get ICE out of our hospitals. Get ICE off our streets. Get ICE away from our children.
Abolish ICE.
