This may come as a shock but a phone bill costs less than rent or a mortgage
Waiting to serve at our local food kitchen and all the people waiting to eat a free meal have a phone?

We can not live with it. It is not sustainable for anyone to continuously rack up reinfections when we know the damage to all systems in the body is cumulative. We need clean air and masking. Healthcare has to be safe especially for the elderly, disabled people and children.

The best response I’ve seen to AI anything has been, “why should i bother reading something that nobody could be bothered to write”

Publicly owned Royal Mail delivered letters six days a week. After privatisation, bosses tripled their salaries and cut that to three days a week. Yes, it's our old friend 'the superior efficiency of the private sector'.

Reduction of working hours is an excellent socialist policy because it directly challenges the notion that capitalist development = progress. Why isn't the advancement of tech reducing the amount of labour we have to do? It's a question that capitalist media will never ask.
A 32 hour four day work week without loss in pay would do more for our overall quality of life and wellbeing than nearly any other singular socioeconomic change

Man destroyed a movie studio with 100 years of history so he could pocket half a billion dollars. Soulless scum who should be shot into the sun

Unless I’m working in an ER, or working as a paramedic, or working as a firefighter, there’s no reason I should be expected to “thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.” Just fix the terrible management and stop running your office like a circus.

"get a 2nd job" So many jobs will flat out not hire you or fire you if they know you got another job or cannot commit 100% of your time to them
I'll say what a lot of people in finance won't say out loud. Plenty of jobs out there still pay $16 to $22 an hour. Full-time, that's roughly $2,770 to $3,810 a month before taxes. Now go find rent under $1,600. Add a car payment, insurance, gas, groceries, utilities, your phone bill. That's before health insurance comes out of your check. Before student loans. Before a kid gets sick and you're out $300 at urgent care. Before your car needs new brakes you didn't budget for. I've worked in personal finance for over a decade, so believe me, I'm not anti-budget. Budgets matter. But there's a point where telling someone making $19 an hour to "cut back more" stops being useful advice. You cannot budget your way out of $3,600 in unavoidable monthly costs on a $2,900 paycheck. The math isn't a discipline problem. Sometimes the spreadsheet isn't broken. The income is just too low to cover what it costs to be alive right now.

Lost a job I had for 5 years due to ai. Lost all of my benefits, all of my medications, all of my money, and has now led me to losing my apartment. Now I have to sit back and watch my favs' company use it instead of hiring the talented artists open for jobs. This is sick
I no longer call myself an animator, i have a degree and i did 2 years in industry. I was then let go because it was easier to invest in a¡ than a junior I couldnt find another job in the industry so i gave up 🤷‍♀️ because i had bills to pay A¡ has no place in kpop

Privatisation in a nutshell: 1) Steal from us something we own. 2) Sell us back an inferior service 3) Charge us a higher price. The pattern is the same everywhere: royal mail, water, railways, the NHS, public services, council services…
Failures of privatisation. Royal Mail to cut up to 2,500 jobs RM doesn't meet letter delivery targets. Regulator keeps lowering them Postage: 1st class, £1.80, 2nd class 91p. When privatized in 2013: 1st class 60p; 2nd 50p. Poor service, triple price. theguardian.com/business/202…

People who are heavily invested in not hearing or understanding what you’re saying will never be happy with the delivery method. It doesn’t matter how ~chill~ you are, or how strident. If you’re chill, they can ignore you, if you’re annoying, they feel justified in ignoring you.

My favorite thing is that COVID conscious people are basically right (COVID is awful for you, repeat infections are cumulatively damaging to your health), but they all happen to be the most insufferable people alive and so are the worst imaginable proxies

So he's going to emigrate , because he doesn't like people who immigrate, who are themselves emigrating from somewhere.
A young Irish lad just said the quiet part out loud: if this keeps up, he’s off to Australia for work. Not because he wants to leave. Because the people running the place put foreigners first and Irish last. Ireland is struggling. Irish workers are struggling. Housing, wages, services — all of it. And the government and Sharia Féin still couldn’t give one fuck about their own. Listen to him. Ireland is struggling. We are all struggling. Except the ones the state decided matter more than you.

She’s gone. Our 4th pediatrician since 2020 is gone. There was no warning, she just got sicker & sicker every time we saw her, & then she was gone. No warning, no notification.
OH MY GOD. I am terrified for everyone. I have long posted about how my kids’ pediatrician keeps getting Covid. In April, she was out with her 4th-5th Covid infection for over a month. She coughed for months. I just learned she is out with Covid AGAIN. We are so doomed.

People were amazed that Adolf Hitler was allowed to continue committing Genocide. Now the man committing Genocide is allowed to fly around Europe and send his minions to tell all their leaders what to do. We are far more evil now than at the height of WW2.

How very Autistic of you to assume everyone else is just as well-intentioned and pure of heart as you are, only to end up brutally manipulated by someone who pretends to be a close "friend" so they can use you as a human shield or benefit from your labour.

I’d rather the youth do NOTHING instead of joining the military

I ain't gonna sugar coat this, the USA is a genuine parasite who thinks they can invade other countries' businesses. The fact my country has the chance to be taken by these imperialistic scums makes me terrified. Please, spread awareness about Brazil and pray for us.
