Growing the hobby
Trying to grow my #hobby community here so, every so often, will be doing random giveaways.
Just need to do the basic follow, like and retweet that everyone seems to do 馃槈

Here is one I just got in the mail that I could only ever dream of. A 1945 Rookie issue M114 of Red With a period Rookie Autograph. Red only Signed as his abbreviated first name (Al, Albert) up until about 1950. And this is definitely earlier than any of my late 40s example autos
How do you comp a card when there鈥檚 nothing really out there like it? Here鈥檚 an example. @CardPurchaser
I buy and sell cards all the time. Not to brag, but I feel I put in more effort than most when it comes to packaging and shipping.

"Kid, that鈥檚 a ball I鈥檝e waited a long time for. One I really want.
Here鈥檚 $20 for it."
Lenny Bielski was sitting with a pack of other kids on the sidewalk outside Navin Field鈥檚 right-field fence.
When the ball flew out of the stadium and bounced, Bielski was the one that came up with it.
"The ball rolled under a car.
I dove under the car and grabbed it.
Then a lot of policemen and ushers all grabbed me.
They put me on their shoulders and
stopped the game and took me into the ballpark and put me in the dugout with Babe Ruth, Joe McCarthy the manager and Lou Gehrig."
Police were dispatched to find the ball and Bielski was escorted into the Stadium to meet the Babe, Lou Gehrig and the rest of the Yankee squad, as well as watch the rest of the game from the Yankee dugout.
After the game Babe said:
"I鈥檓 gonna give him $120."
He didn鈥檛 have his wallet, though, so he told Lou Gehrig:
"I鈥檒l give that boy a $20 bill."
Lou Gehrig took Bielski aside later and said:
"If you鈥檇 been a little older, you鈥檇 have got thousands of dollars for it."
Lenny happily passed the ball along to his idol for $20, and received a signed ball from Babe acknowledging the gift of that special 700th home run ball.
Lenny Bielski still had the $20 bill when he died in 1977.

"Joe" said Marilyn Monroe, just back from Korea.
"You never heard such cheering."
"Yes I have." Joe DiMaggio answered.
