Putting up Barn Owl boxes on a windy Norfolk hillside (yes, they do exist) and I’m revisited by my long, forgotten nemesis, cold.😁
For all my dear Twitter pals who are stuck inside today, come and listen to the sea at Great Yarmouth. Cotman painted this sky in his famous ‘Storm on Yarmouth Beach’ painting in 1831, and the echoes of that are present today.
For anyone who loves East Anglia, here is the wonderful air ambulance taking off from Gt Yarmouth this afternoon. It’s charity and relies on donations and so, in hope you never need it, you may wish to support it here @EastAngliAirAmb
For all my dear Twitter pals who are stuck indoors today, come and stand atop a very breezy dune and look across to Holkham Bay. The wind is howling but it’s a fabulous day in Norfolk.
For all my Twitter pal who are stuck indoors today, come and stand with me on Cromer beach today. The sea is lazy, despite the wind, and the autumnal colours of sky are just lovely. The pier looks fabulous too. A real gem of the Norfolk coast.
Other plants dying around them, but these fuchsia flowers are coming into their own on this blue-sky day in Norfolk.
For all my dear Twitter pals who are stuck inside today, come and stand on a Norfolk beach and be buffeted by the strong NW wind. The tops of the waves are blown away, the water ripples under the pressure and the noise is terrible (sorry!). So good to be outdoors though.
There’s cosy… and then there’s cosy with gilding and ornamental plasterwork. Sumptuous colours at Felbrigg Hall this afternoon.
For all my dear Twitter pals who are stuck inside today, come on a walk through a very windy Felbrigg park. The holly berries are gleaming and the dried leaves crunch under our feet. The tops of the trees dance in the wind as autumn makes its presence known in Norfolk.
