Well done. Mostly I think bonfires are unnecessary at any time of the year. Councils offer an alternative.

Thank you Roy. You wrote: "The present system is impossible to defend. Cancer - the NHS pays Dementia - mostly, the family pays" If someone needs support with washing dressing toileting its the individual/family/social care who pay irrespective of diagnosis?

I just wanted to query why you say with cancer the NHS pays? My mother died last year. She was nearly 90. Cancer got her in the end. As with us all, her end of life care costs were high, but she paid care bill through limited savings and benefits. Not the NHS.

Would you put up with this from your bank? Charity folks up and down the country have had to put up with CAF bank's lousy "upgrade" last year which made online banking a real pain and now this. Read the comments on this post ⬇️ 😡😪
CAF Bank’s online banking service will continue to be unavailable until further notice. We are very sorry for the disruption this causes. We have emailed all customers with further information. Please call us if you need to make time-sensitive payments such as payroll.

This house belongs to my friend in Exminster, Devon. Her cob wall started to collapse 3 weeks ago. @avivaplc will not take the claim because it wasn't a named storm? Can this be correct? 50 days of rain! Sally has always looked after her house. Can anyone advise? #insurance

As we've seen across history, the populist playbook used by Farage is ugly, powerful and incredibly destructive. We know where it will lead if we don't stop it.

Goodbye Allan. You were a pioneer of great children's literature, both in picture books and poetry. You were clever, funny and wise. My children loved your books. So did and so DO I. theguardian.com/books/2025/j…
