£25.3m spent yesterday turning on gas plants to replace wind energy in Scotland that couldn't be used due to grid constraints.
A further £3.3m was paid to the wind farms that were turned down.
I believe that's a record. NESO really weren't lying when they said things would get a lot worse from September… 😬
Have been struggling to relate EV charger kWh pricing to the petrol pump equivalent so made a simple converter with @GoogleAIStudio that I found so useful I thought I'd share it...

Outraged that @Merlin_HR have made policy changes which discriminate against people with autism and ADHD by no longer recognising "Difficulty with Crowds" as something that impacts access to their services. @ADHDUKcharity @Autism
ChatGPT is just utter trash for coding questions.
Trying to get it to explain why DataAnnotations object validation doesn't seem to happen when there's a property level error and it's just getting it hopelessly wrong...
There is no special case for Blazor; they all just use Validator.TryValidateObject and that short-circuits on any property errors without getting to IValidateObject...
Understand it with streaming but I didn't know a music download purchase could be revoked 🤯
Like the label coming round your house to repossess your CD collection.
Where has the search gone from the Microsoft Store Windows app?!
I can search my library of apps already installed but can't search for a new app to install anymore?
Just need to keep scrolling until I find it I guess 🤔
Bro starts using new tech based on hype.
Bro tries to use new tech the same way bro was using old tech.
New tech doesn't work how bro expects.
Bro blames new tech.
Bro posts video telling everyone new tech sucks.
Bro still hasn't read the docs for new tech.
Have Microsoft fired all the folks that knew how to build native apps?
Is this because Gen-Z workers are JavaScript-heavy or maybe that they're making more LLM-friendly tech choices to maximise the vibes?
If Microsoft really wants to make Windows 11 better and faster, it should start by moving apps or at least OS-level features to native UI.
For example, an upcoming Windows 11 update adds "Agenda" view to the Notification Center. It's a good feature, but it's in WebView2 and Task Manager proves it.
WebView2 allows developers to embed web technologies (HTML, CSS, and JavaScript) in native Windows 11 using the Microsoft Edge (Chromium) rendering engine.
We don't need WebView2 processes to start running in the background when we click on the date and time to open Notification Center in Windows 11.
And it's not just about Notification Center...
Patch your stuff.
Sounds like lots of folks are spending their weekend firefighting the effects of this.

Here's a bitter truth:
LLMs were not trained on "Good Code",
they were trained All Code that exists.
That means they'll spit out mostly average a.k.a. mediocre code!
No amount of .cursor/rules or AGENTS md will actually fix this problem.

Use LINQPad to make this stupid easy
On macOS you can easily study the IL
On Windows you can see the IL and x86/x64
Here's why you should be using LINQPad (learninglinqpad.com/blog/202…)

Qualcomm acquired Arduino, and according to their new TOS & Privacy Policy, they can now potentially assert patents against your projects if you built them using Arduino tools or Arduino-compatible hardware.
This is a HUGE loss to the maker community!
