Utter rubbish, of course. Republicans have extended the hand of friendship over & again, & had it slapped away.
Unionist & British culture have a place in a #UnitedIreland.
Sectarianism & supremacism don't.
#GarvaghyRoad is about unionism desperately trying to turn back the tide.

The decision tonight to overturn the court ruling, and force an unwanted orange march through the Garvaghy Road is disgraceful.
This march is steeped in a history of hate, sectarian violence, and murder, and championed by Unionist leaders.
Our message tonight is clear.
There is no going back.
Not tomorrow. Not ever.
Sinn Féin stands fully with the Garvaghy Road community, and they have the full support of people from right across Ireland in the period ahead.

Another important takeaway from Berlin: the weeks-long campaign by the German media establishment to brand Die Linke as antisemitic due to its (frankly lukewarm) support for Palestine utterly failed. Condemning the genocide in Gaza is no longer a political liability in Germany.

Micheál going all Big Ian today lecturing that Irish republicans must “atone”…
Sinn Féin is engaged in the work of reconciliation day and daily in the north. Micheál would do well to catch up with the times.

Replying to SNP, Andy Burnham has again misrepresented the Good Friday Agreement:
“Clear consensus” invents artificial supermajority threshold; GFA requires a simple majority (50%+1)
The SoS has a binding duty: Annex A states they ‘shall’ direct a vote, not merely “consider” it

Ampak niso migranti privatizirali in zavozili tovarne.

Democratic parties have lost the working class. In Saxony-Anhalt, a staggering 61% of workers voted for the right wing extremist AfD. We need an anti-fascist economics to win workers back. And we need it now.

No matter where you stand on Ukraine, you'd have to recognize this is extremely problematic.
Not even 3 months ago this guy was Ukraine's Minister of Defence, meaning in charge of weapons procurement, including from Palantir - the company whose CEO is now the lead investor in his new private venture.
That alone should raise eyebrows, and not in a small way...
But also think about it from a European taxpayer's standpoint.
EU taxpayers have given literally hundreds of billions to Ukraine's war effort, much of it spent buying American defense technology - including from Palantir.
And now the expertise that spending generated is being privatized by those same Americans, and will likely be sold back to Europeans as a product.
There is a common talking point in Europe that goes "sure we're spending an eyewatering amount of money to support Ukraine but it's also an investment in European strategic autonomy - Ukraine's battlefield innovations will feed Europe's future defense capacity."
I'm not making it up, that's a real argument made by serious people, for instance the German Council on Foreign Relations (dgap.org/en/research/publica…): "The defense-industrial integration of Ukrainian innovation with European production and funding capacity bears huge potential for Europe’s collective security. Increased cooperation would give the EU and Ukraine greater autonomy from the US."
This deal illustrates perfectly just how wrong that argument is turning out to be. The first major privatization of Ukraine's defense expertise is... an American-owned startup.
Lastly there is the Palantir angle, a company so problematic that many, if not most, major European countries - such as France, the Netherlands, Switzerland and even Germany - are actively cutting ties with it, citing threats to data sovereignty and national security.
And yet somehow the man who ran Ukraine's defense with Europe's money - the single most expensive investment Europe made in several generations - is delivering the fruits of that investment to Palantir's CEO in a private deal.
Make it make sense 🤷
So, long story short, this is yet another chapter in what is becoming Europe's defining story: being the incompetent sucker in the room.
We are building our own defense tech company. Alex Karp, CEO of @PalantirTech, will become its first lead investor.
Our ambitious new project will strengthen Ukraine and help build a safer future for the entire world. More details to come.

Congratulations South Africa Legal Team. What a gift to humanity you are.
South Africa has officially submitted a substantial dossier to the International Court of Justice (ICJ), detailing Israel’s continued non-compliance with legally binding provisional measures.
The submission, formally handed over on 25 August 2026, serves to assist an ICJ committee of judges tasked with monitoring the implementation of the court’s orders in Gaza.
According to the Department of International Relations and Cooperation (DIRCO), Israel’s non-compliance directly undermines the protective functions of international justice.
Hence, the submission is a vital milestone in the struggle for global accountability. By formally documenting Israel’s refusal to adhere to the court’s binding provisional measures, Pretoria is doing far more than advocating for Palestinian survival.

The campaign featured debates on security, economics, and sovereignty, but fisheries, which make up 40% of Iceland's exports, may have been decisive.

The referendum proposal on restarting EU accession negotiations, frozen in 2013, has been defeated by almost 53-47.
Sovereignty, security, & economics were all in the mix, but concern about Iceland's important fishing industry may have been decisive.
