Most potential 100x plays just go to zero and you lose everything.
Ethereum relics are the potential 100x plays that will likely never go to zero.

"Look, everyone is talking about privacy and ZK proofs, so let's find a total shitcoin, say starknet, we corner some supply, pump it, and the plebs will think it's going up because of fundamentals, and they will buy after us, and then we dump on them"

0/ Ethereum relics
A guest thread by @goatishduck 🧵
Did you know that art and collectibles on Ethereum date back to year one? Despite a primitive UI, a handful of pioneers forged creations out of bytecode in 2015.

Thank you to @currencycoineth for their generous contribution, for carrying forward a new standard— via the Protocol Guild Pledge—to collectively support Ethereum core development, and for recognizing the vital work of Protocol Guild members ❤️🔥
We have heard the call to action 🙌 Currency Coin will be taking the Protocol Guild Pledge and contributing 1% to the leading independent funding organization for Ethereum core developers.
This initiative will benefit the current 176 core researchers and developers who are members of Protocol Guild.

Currency Coin is pleased to announce our partnership with Gitcoin!
With this partnership, Gitcoin.eth will be allocated 1% of the $CC total supply. Half of this allocation (0.5%) will be used to foster growth in the Ethereum ecosystem over the next 2.5 years, or more, through strategic Gitcoin Grant programs that will support open-source development!
To honor and recognize the history of Currency Coin and Ethereum, the other half of the allocation (0.5%) will be a permanent, never-to-be-sold, treasury reserve artifact, held forever at Gitcoin.eth.
Gitcoin has transformed onchain funding and has supported Ethereum ecosystem development in countless ways. The Currency Coin community would like to extend a thank you to the Gitcoin community for giving us the platform and opportunity to share, support, and fund what matters with them. 😄

Runes are a massive failure so runes influencer decides that they may need to "upgrade the protocol in the future."
What does this mean?
It means one guy unilaterally changing a centralized GitHub repo to say anything they want about which wallets own which tokens and why.
Just a reminder that almost all "Bitcoin tokens" are not secured by Bitcoin miners and have the very problem Bitcoin was created to solve - a single entity can do whatever they want to your assets at any time.
If you absolutely must put tokens on Bitcoin, Stephan Vogler made a protocol to eliminate this problem in 2015. And yet people keep using the colored coins GitHub model over and over and over since the early 2010s even after it completely failed colored coins.

Today is August 20th, 2015. Ethereum is only 3 weeks old, the price ETH is $1.50, and only a few hundred smart contracts have been created.
At 3:02 AM UTC, an anon developer named Linagee will deploy what is now known as, the first Ethereum memecoin.
He names it AyeAyeCoin!

I often perform a simple test when someone claims to be a generative art collector. I take a quick glance at their wallet/vault, and if it only contains works from a single platform, they fail.
This typically ends up being a small selection of ArtBlocks collections which have been deemed 'worthy' by the cabal.
To be clear, there's nothing wrong with that, letting a platform curate works on your behalf is totally reasonable, but don't pretend to be collector of gen art if yournl sphere of influence only contains a single platform.
You aren't a collector, you are an AB patron.
