The education sector is losing the plot over ChatGPT and forgetting the lessons learned from the crisis in essay-mill use from just a few years ago. Detection software didn't resolve that crisis and won't resolve the present crisis around generative AI.

True. If you are in an institution which takes a cohort approach with communities of practice, sharing ideas, etc, with development of the fellowship application as part of it, then its completely different from someone suddenly trying to bolster it on to a promotion application.
