DEVA SIR — THE SOUNDTRACK OF OUR SCHOOL DAYS. A LEGEND WE NEVER CELEBRATED ENOUGH. 🙏🎶 Our school days would have been incomplete without Deva Sir’s music. His songs were the soundtrack to our friendships, our youthful days, our celebrations, and memories that will stay with us forever. As Thala Ajith Kumar and Thalapathy Vijay connected with the youngsters of Tamil Nadu, Deva Sir’s music became an inseparable part of their journeys. His songs gave their films an unmistakable energy and became anthems for an entire generation. And the iconic Superstar introduction music associated with Superstar Rajinikanth remains a testament to his ability to make a hero’s screen presence unforgettable. What makes Deva Sir truly special is that his voice transcended generations. From Nenjame Nenjame (Reprise) for A. R. Rahman in Maamannan, to Open the Tasmac with Anirudh Ravichander, and Jithu Jilladi with G. V. Prakash Kumar, he continued to deliver songs that connected with audiences across eras. His voice remained unmistakable, his energy undiminished, and his musical identity uniquely his own. He was also the composer who brought the raw, earthy spirit of Madras Gaana into mainstream Tamil cinema, giving the sounds and soul of Chennai’s streets a place in our films. He didn’t just make hit songs. He gave a generation its memories, its energy, and its musical identity. As a filmmaker, I cannot help but feel that Tamil cinema could have celebrated Deva Sir’s contribution far more. We celebrate our stars and their milestones, but we must also honour the composers whose music helped shape their journeys and became part of our lives. Our school days. Our favourite heroes. The songs we grew up singing. The excitement of a Superstar’s entry. So much of our cinematic memory carries the unmistakable signature of Deva Sir. Some composers create music for films. A rare few become part of an entire generation’s life. Deva Sir was one of them. Thank you, Deva Sir, for the melodies, the mass moments, the Madras Gaana, and the memories that will never grow old. With immense respect and gratitude. You deserved to be celebrated more. Your music will live on forever. Rest in peace, Deva Sir. 🙏🎼 #DevaSir #TamilCinema #MadrasGaana #ThalaAjith #ThalapathyVijay #SuperstarRajinikanth #ARRahman #AnirudhRavichander #GVPrakashKumar #RIPDeva #RIPDevasir

Some filmmakers make films. Some filmmakers expand the possibilities of cinema. Today, Indian cinema has lost one of its most extraordinary minds — Singeetham Srinivasa Rao garu. Look at the sheer range of his journey — In Telugu Neethi Nijayithi, Tharam Marindi, Panthulamma, Sommokadidhi Sokokadidhi, Mayuri, Aditya 369, Brundavanam, Bhairava Dweepam, Madam, Sri Krishnarjuna Vijayam, Akasa Veedhilo… and in Tamil Raja Paarvai, Pesum Padam, Apoorva Sagodharargal, Michael Madana Kama Rajan, Magalir Mattum, Kaathala Kaathala, Mumbai Xpress — among so many others. But his greatness was not just in the number of films or languages. It was in his courage to experiment. Pushpaka Vimanam — a dialogue-less film that proved emotion and storytelling could transcend language. Michael Madana Kama Rajan — an extraordinary experiment in comedy, performance and multiple characters. Aditya 369 — decades before time-travel became a familiar cinematic device, he took Telugu cinema into science fiction, history and time travel. Apoorva Sagodharargal. Mayuri. Bhairava Dweepam. Kaathala Kaathala. Mumbai Xpress. Every few years, he seemed to find another way to challenge himself — and challenge the audience. And then, incredibly, at the age of 94, he directed Sing Geetham. That itself is perhaps the greatest Singeetham story of all. Even in 2026, trying to recreate the kind of experimentation he achieved decades ago would be incredibly difficult. The technology available today may be far more advanced, but the imagination required to think that far ahead is something technology cannot provide. He didn’t wait for cinema to change. He changed cinema by imagining what it could become. A filmmaker who travelled across genres, languages, formats and generations — from grounded human stories to comedy, fantasy, mythology, biography, science fiction, time travel and completely unconventional forms of storytelling. He was ahead of his time, yet timeless. Today, Singeetham Srinivasa Rao garu is no more. But his films remain. And they will continue to introduce him to generations who haven’t even been born yet. A filmmaker may leave this world. But when his imagination survives on film, he never really dies. Singeetham Srinivasa Rao garu — your cinema will keep you alive for hundreds of years. Rest in peace, Master. 🙏🎬 #RIPSingeethamSrinivasGaru

4 Years of #DEJAVU ❤️ It's hard to believe that #DEJAVU completed 4 years today. As a debut director, I could never have imagined the kind of love this film would continue to receive even after all these years. Every time someone tells me they watched it on OTT and enjoyed it, it feels just as special as it did on release day. One thing DEJAVU has given me is an identity. Whenever I meet someone new and introduce myself as a filmmaker, many of them recognize the film before they recognize me. That's a blessing I'll always be grateful for. I've experienced this not just in Chennai, but even during my visits to Hyderabad and Mumbai, where people have shared their appreciation for the film. Those conversations remind me that stories can travel farther than we ever imagine. Almost every meeting ends with the same question: "What's next?" And very often, it's followed by: "Will it be like DEJAVU?" I don't see that as pressure. I see it as a responsibility—to keep learning, keep improving, and keep telling stories that connect with people. None of this would have been possible without our producers @WCF2021 and @Pgmediaworks @MuthaiahG , @arulnithitamil br, the entire cast, every technician, every crew member, and above all, the audience who embraced this film and continue to keep it alive. Thank you for making #DEJAVU such an important chapter in my journey. Here's to many more stories. With gratitude, Arvindh Srinivasan ❤️ @GhibranVaibodha @madhoo69 @teamaimpr @Riyaz_Ctc @Yokeshkrish

Happy Birthday, @arulnithitamil Bro! ❤️🎬 Life gives us many moments, but only a few define who we become. You were the first person to believe in my story, the first to trust my vision, and most importantly, the first to recognize and accept me as a director. That belief became Dejavu—the film that changed my life forever. It's truly special that your birthday falls on 21st July, the very day our Dejavu premiere happened in 2022. That evening, I was recognized as a director for the very first time. The next day, Dejavu released, and my dream became a reality. Thank you, Brother, for believing in me before the world did. I'll always be grateful for your trust and support. Wishing you good health, happiness, and many more memorable films. Have a fantastic year ahead! Happy Birthday, Brother! ❤️🙏 #HappyBirthdayArulnithi #Arulnithi #Dejavu #TamilCinema #DirectorLife #Gratitude #CinemaJourney #HBDArulnithi
