Congress should keep the bipartisan momentum going.

A diesel export ban would interfere with the market precisely when energy markets are under extraordinary stress.
Diesel is a globally-traded commodity, and its price is ultimately determined by market forces—not government mandates.

New York just imposed America's first statewide moratorium on hyperscale data centers – infrastructure that powers AI and the digital economy.
While AI emerges as a defining innovation, New York is choosing to shut it down.

Don’t Let Fear Drive AI Policy
"Last week, Anthropic researcher Jacob Coxon resigned, warning of an “endgame” in which artificial intelligence companies could help determine humanity’s fate. It is the latest apocalyptic warning to fuel fear and misunderstanding around AI, but it matters because speculative fears can produce very real policy mistakes. New York offers a timely example: Governor Kathy Hochul recently imposed the nation’s first statewide moratorium on new hyperscale data centers — the infrastructure that powers AI and much of the modern digital economy."

America’s permitting system has become a maze of duplicative reviews, endless studies, procedural hurdles, and bureaucratic delays that keep worthwhile projects tied up for years without meaningfully improving environmental outcomes.
But Congress has the chance to deliver needed reforms for taxpayers.

This confuses tolerating private choices with subsidizing them.
Classical liberalism/libertarianism does not mean government must “encourage” gambling or porn. It means coercive power should be limited, and policy should avoid rewarding one politically preferred way of life over another.
And yes, parts of today’s tax-and-transfer system create marriage penalties. But the principled fix is to remove those penalties and make policy more neutral, not create new marriage bonuses and call that conservatism.
Otherwise you have accepted the same social-engineering premise, just with different goals through “conservatism.”
Another lesson is how much libertarianism managed to disguise itself as conservatism. A smaller state and lower taxes are always desirable, but the claim that government cannot be used to advance substantive moral goods is a long-peddled libertarian fiction. If public policy can incentivize single parenthood and lifelong government dependency, as much of the current system does, then there is no principled reason existing funds cannot be reallocated to strengthen marriage, encourage family formation, and promote healthier social arrangements.
But hey, maybe we should just listen to the libertarians and encourage more gambling and porn use instead. Because muh freedum matters most!

A supervisory culture focused on check-the-box compliance can distract examiners and bank executives from material financial risks that can endanger the viability of a bank if unaddressed. @USOCC's new framework is intended to promote safety and soundness by returning to risk-based supervision.
The OCC is returning to risk-based supervision. Read the OCC’s new supervisory framework that provides clearer guardrails to ensure that examiners and institutions prioritize material financial risks and violations of law. occ.gov/news-issuances/news-…

ALT “It is critical that examiners and institutions prioritize material financial risks and substantive violations of law over concerns related to policies, process, documentation, and other nonfinancial risks, and that the agencies’ supervision and enforcement standards further that prioritization.” – Comptroller Jonathan V. While the threshold has since been moved to $1,000, the damage is already done.
