Today, I ended up in hospital after experiencing significant chest pain. I’m now being referred to the Rapid Chest Pain Clinic because the doctors believe there could be an underlying issue that needs investigating. I’ve been put on daily aspirin and nitrolingual spray to use when the pain comes on, with clear instructions that if it doesn’t settle within five minutes, I must return immediately to hospital. But while I should be concentrating on my health, my mind keeps going back to one thing: What happens to the charity if we cannot secure the financial support we desperately need? I have given 10 years of my life volunteering to this charity, following six years previously volunteering to help London’s homeless people and their dogs. For 10 years, I have kept going because I believe in what we do. I believe in the people we help. I believe in the dogs we support. And I believe that the work we do matters. But I have to be completely honest now. We are struggling financially. Fundraising is becoming harder. Grants are becoming harder to secure. Donations are becoming harder to find. Yet the bills, and other essential costs do not stop. The charity’s overheads continue every single day, whether we have the money coming in or not. And I am reaching a point where I cannot continue carrying the financial worry, the pressure and the uncertainty on top of everything else. I am worried about my health.
I am worried about the charity.
And I am worried about what happens next. This isn't a post I ever wanted to write. I don't want sympathy. I need support. If you have ever believed in what we do, if our work has ever meant something to you, or if you simply want to help us keep going, now is the time to stand with us. 🙏 Please donate if you can. 🙏 Please consider fundraising for us. 🙏 Please share this post. 🙏 Please talk about our charity and help us reach people who may be able to support us. Even a small donation can help. A share could reach someone who can make a much bigger difference. A fundraiser could help pay an essential bill. A regular donation could give us the stability we desperately need. Please don't wait until we're forced to say that we can no longer continue. We have spent years helping others through some of the most difficult circumstances imaginable. Right now, we need people to help us. I have given everything I can for the last 10 years. But I cannot do this alone anymore. Please help us keep the charity alive.🧡 dogsonthestreets.org/donate-… peoplesfundraising.com/fundr… peoplesfundraising.com/fundr… #UrgentAppeal #PleaseHelpUs #CharityAppeal #SupportOurCharity #Fundraising #EveryDonationCounts #Homelessness #HomelessDogs #CharitySupport #SmallCharity #HelpUsContinue

I had 3-4 weeks off Twitter with autistic burnout recently & my engagement is right down (also due to standing up to a vile group of trolls on here-they reported me lots, restricting my reach). If you see this photo it would be so ace if you could RT it or drop me a quick hello if you have a moment, both of which help an account get back on track. I also hope these little violas ping some floral dopamine in your meat computer & give you a small lift 🌿

Everyone's been talking about Jon Snow: A Last Big Story. ‘Powerful. Beautiful. Impactful. Thought-provoking.' The reviews are in from the only people that matter - you. The @channel4 documentary, produced in collaboration with Alzheimer’s Society, has struck a chord with so many people affected by dementia. We’re so grateful to Jon and his wife Precious for so bravely opening up their lives and sharing with all of us to help raise much-needed awareness. And we’d love to know what you thought, too. Drop us a comment and tell us how Jon’s story made you feel. @jonsnowc4

We are joining Pesticide Action Network UK’s call for Sainsbury’s to ban the use of the toxic herbicide, paraquat, in their global supply chains. It’s time for Sainsbury’s to put people and the planet first by ending its use. #SainsburysBanParaquat prksn.uk/4uEiR4Q

At least 1 in 6 people live with a neurological condition. The right care at the right time can transform your life. But too often, people affected by neurological conditions are unable to access services they need. This is wrong and needs to change. #BackThe1in6

So, as a doctor I can’t accept a plastic pen from a pharmaceutical company because it might influence my prescribing decisions, but MPs can accept thousands in cash from those who want to privatise the NHS and it won’t affect their decision-making??? CTFO thenational.scot/news/259677…

I’d definitely encourage everyone to follow @MeningitisNow too
Meningitis is one a few diseases where your child can be well in the morning and dead by the evening And if you’d ever seen it happen, you wouldn’t be debating whether to vaccinate or not Tragic and horrifying

On #InternationalWomensDay2026 I am running 54km in memory of the 54 Physiotherapists killed in Gaza. Many of them women, mothers, daughters and friends. If you can support us to raise funds for physios and rehab professionals in Gaza and across Palestine it’s much appreciated❤️
Next week I will be running a 54km Ultra in memory of the 54 physiotherapists killed in Gaza over the last two years The surviving physios in Gaza have continued to work tirelessly in the most brutal and hostile of conditions Our solidarity and support means so much to them 💚

A reminder... without women, there was no Bletchley Park. By January 1945, women made up 75% of the workforce, taking on roles across almost every level of the organisation - from operators and linguists to engineers and analysts. Their contribution reflected a wider shift across wartime Britain, where millions of women stepped into vital roles in industry and the armed forces. Yet despite their expertise and dedication, many faced official and societal scepticism and barriers to progression - particularly in technical and senior positions. Today, we celebrate their skill, resilience and lasting impact. Discover their stories and the difference they made by visiting Bletchley Park. #BletchleyPark #InternationalWomensDay #IWD2026 #GiveToGain

‘Like’ if you are disgusted that Farage has gone to the USA with the intention of damaging the U.K. during a war. ‘Repost’ if you’d rather he stayed over there with his orange buddy.

The people have spoken and the company is listening. We have reached a public health milestone. “For decades we have warned that certain pesticides increase the risk of Parkinson’s and other serious diseases. This moment proves that advocacy, data and courage can change the trajectory of disease.” "Fewer people are going to develop Parkinson’s disease in the future.” "The voices of the Parkinson’s community, the voices of those who’ve been highlighting the toxic effects of this weed killer … are being heard and they’re having an impact.” Folks w/ Parkinson's, "tell your story," as that is the best way to create impact and contribute to the PLAN. pdplan.org theguardian.com/environment/…
