Phill Swagel is a phenomenal CBO director. First-rate, impeccable, goated.
Not a single negative thing I can say about him
He’s exactly what you want from a CBO director: smart, intellectually curious, challenges his own priors, always learning
He makes the whole agency better
Democrats’ victory mean they will decide who runs CBO.

Are you a great communicator? Do you love tax? I'm aware these sets don't often overlap. But if this is you, please check out @TaxPolicyCenter's new job listing. It's hard to imagine a better place to put top flight data and analysis into the world (IMHO) urban.wd1.myworkdayjobs.com/…

🚨I wrote about the issue of coronavirus “strains”. Despite the recent overblown stories, there’s no strong evidence that more dangerous strains have evolved—or even that there’s more than one strain. Here's a guide to making sense of it all.

Replying to @dmarron
Costs are mostly fixed in processing time and importantly AML compliance. I believe profitability is larger for larger loans hence round 1 is more profitable for banks.
See here on AML which is a cost and deterant for new businesses.

We know about this fact. We also know it affects some of the predictions.
