.@dmarticus explains why @posthog migrated to the #Rust platform, especially with #P99 considerations in mind. It's hard not to see the 21x #performance benchmark throughput bump as a very compelling driver. #API #appdevelopment #Java #Python #P99Conference #ScyllaDB #P99conf

we are automating toil
Replying to @Geekvineeth
they already are maintaining software autonomously. and not just maintaining but improving too. check out @posthog are leading the charge on "self-driving". the cost of tokens is going down. compute is going up. if you already own compute - you're in the money.

this guy gets it
Just had my first holy shit moment with @posthog - I had a feedback form wired up to their support ticket feature, and because I had "self-driving" turned on and wired up to my codebase, posthog read the support ticket, identified the fix, then opened a PR. This feels like the future. Well done lads, well done. 👏

If you're going to trust PostHog to make your product self-driving, you should see that we're doing the same thing. So, here's seven examples of when we made our own product self-driving. Self-drivingception, if you will:

I have an Android ebook device, where KOReader and Moon Reader are the commonly recommended featureful/robust apps. I just wanted something that would open books and let me read them, with minimal settings. So I made Alexandria.

this one’s for all you --dangerously-skip-permissions clowns out there 🤡🤡
Trusting your agents just because the models got smarter is like skipping your seatbelt because you got a nicer car.

man i feel this
I asked myself the other day "How come we still have meetings to decide stuff, how come that talking to people gets people unstuck, but talking to LLMs rarely does so".

A feature flag evaluation service handling ~500k requests per minute across 300 Django pods was hitting hard scaling limits. At @P99CONF, @PostHog's @dmarticus shares how they rewrote the entire feature flag service in Rust. ow.ly/mz8i50ZjfyG #ScyllaDB #P99CONF
