Brewers record from Sept 7 to end of WS? 26-5.
It is officially the single best finishing stretch by a World Series champion in MLB history.
Other teams have had similar stretches during the season, but this was against the best teams playing their most important games.
The top 4 Los Angeles Dodgers starting pitchers are:
Shohei Ohtani: $700,000,000 (10 years, 2024–2033)
Yoshinobu Yamamoto: $325,000,000 (12 years, 2024–2035)
Blake Snell: $182,000,000 (5 years)
Tyler Glasnow: $136,562,500 (5 years)
Ttal contract value is $1,343,562,500
My simple analysis for 2024: overall market is unlikely to crash. I am predicting a decent gain through the end of the year. 2025, though, may be a rough year for a variety of reasons. There's no need to get into those now. Just enjoy '24!
I will do some analysis to see how the October before the off-year November election year performed, and if a good October is any type of indicator for the Nov-Nov time frame.
However, the past 3 off-year elections have seen lower than average year-to-year returns, an average of around 5%. Considering the steep gains this October, that may result in a muted off-year election rally.
Every off year election since, stocks have either been flat (1938,1978,2014) or up, sometimes substantially. I wouldn't count 1938 because the market was doing great until WWII started.
This week is a time to buy stocks with low risk of the price being lower 1 year from now. The only time stocks have not increased, November to November, during an off-year election was in 1930-1931, when they fell 43%.
Nice bounce in the market today. Although I'm not a fan of timing the market, I am going lighter on stocks. Will buy back in Feb/Mar of 2023. Selling on these rallies. Not buying anything right now.
Stock market will likely correct at least 10% sometime this year, but if you feel compelled to buy, the stocks I just sent are my choices.
